  1. He had numerous health issues (notably asthma), refused to be vaccinated, railed against vaccination mandates, and caught COVID. A real shame. One cover band I was I covered "All Dressed Up and No Place to Go" for quite a while, it rocked the house and was always in the show.
  2. Additionally, let's not forget that at one point in A Star Is Born, she is wearing a Yes t-shirt. That was an unexpected treat.
  3. I loved this moment: GH, plunking away at the piano, to BP: "Billy, what chord is this?" Who here hasn't been asked that question? It should be a tee shirt.
  4. Andy Kim, "Rock Me Gently" - wait, what?? A totally unexpected one, I actually transcribed it for a 70's schlock band I did. I looked forward to the tune every night. [video:youtube]
  5. That's a Hammond Solovox attached to it. I had one attached to my Rhodes in the late 60's, thought I was hot shit. http://120years.net/the-solovoxhammond-organs-companyusa1940/
  6. Sigh. . . my first synth as well, about the same price. Loved that magical little box.
  7. That harp player in Blues Traveler. At times the onslaught of harmonica notes sounds almost comical to me, yet no one else seems to notice. Oh well, what do I know?
  8. Probably not helpful to anyone, but since I've returned to almost exclusive piano playing/practice, I spend all my time either upstairs on the P-515 that I got about a year ago, or downstairs on my KX88 that I got in the mid eighties. I'm pretty content on either.
  9. Yeah, my mistake. I never got Studio 2, that 's the problem.
  10. If I recall correctly, Ringworld (which is at the high end of this video) was roughly equal to the mass of the contents of our solar sytsem, excluding the sun, of course. Google it's dimensions and you'll see how those materials were used.
  11. Agreed. I find that I rarely launch it as a result. However I do have the 275 in a couple of Mainstage patches.
  12. I could never quite put my finger on it, but - as great an album as it was - something always bothered me about the original Brain Salad Surgery master. I assume that could have been fixed along the way in one of the many re-releases, but wasn't about to keep buying the same recording. Maybe if Steven Wilson takes a whack at it.
  13. David: "Mainstage is only $39 and gives you tons of stuff to play with. Well worth the cost to try it yourself, and see if it does what you want." I think that David and most of us who really use it would declare it's well worth 10 times that cost.
  14. I actually have a pdf of apparently Japanese editions called the Chick Corea Complete Anthology, which weighs in at 1,448 pages, 55.7 mg. I don't remember how I happen to have this, I've never played anything by Chick in my life.1230.pdf
  15. I also have a folder called 'Complete Spain Study Package", which I think was from his online lessons.Three takes: audio and transcribed.
  16. I have it, where should I send? Can we post pdf's here?
  17. Came across my feed recently: "I like double bass solos in jazz music, it's like the whole band gets quiet so a friendly cartoon whale can talk to you."
  18. Anybody in an early Yes or Genesis situation would be interested. I asked my friend who channeled Tony Banks for this remarkable production what he used and he said "It"s from an older SampleTank collection of Genesis related samples Dave Kerzner made at The Farm some years back. Only cost something like $10! (of course SampleTank license required to use it). I added a little bit of phasing with MainStage.)"
  19. Yes, woe is me. Specifically, and starting today: the sustain pedal seems to intermittently not release all the way, leaving any following notes to ring as if I'm half pedaling (not full sustain). Repedaling a couple of times will get them to cut off. Has anyone had similar issues and is this something I can repair/adjust myself? Because I'll be damned if I will haul the whole piano/furniture stand down to my warranty (which ends next month) repair guy. Because it seems like that's what would need to happen. I have a single pedal to hold me over, but I really do use the sostenuto pedal more than I expected. Any advice would be appreciated.
  20. Always loved his demos of this keyboard. I've wanted one ever since then - but couldn't delude myself into thinking I had any real-world need for it.
  21. That photo has been around the ELP boards forever. Apparently taken by a very tall photographer.
  22. I'm (finally) listening to the Steven Wilson YES remixes. Granted, it's the youtube versions while I work, but at least I'm using headphones. By and large, they are fabulous.
