  1. Thanks Aspen & when they make this into a movie I'll be first in line.
  2. When I turn the width all the way down it sounds puny & when I turn the width back up it grows up.
  3. Aspen, Sorry for the dumb question that's probably been asked several dozen times & I'm sure it's in the depths of this epic somewhere but... the bass went out on my SS. Does that mean it's the fuse? Lost the bass the other night & am baffled. I was one of your first customers & I'm loving it!!!!!! Thanks
  4. I like the sound & digging the organ pic... but "BO"? ;0)
  5. In CCM as in any genre of music there's something for everybody, just depends on your perspective & what you're looking for.
  6. Here's a link to my original "I Surrender I" off a CD I Recorded a few years ago. Gives you an idea what we do at our youth mass.
  7. As Music Director of a large church near San Antonio I walk this slippery slope all the time especially with the youth mass - timwat as always is a beacon of light in a sea of opinions, some well grounded & some not. Music in a true worship environment should hit three marks... musical, liturgical & communal, communal being the key word here. Do I always meet these criteria, nope... but it's something to strive for. There's some very cool hip fun music out there that I would love to sink my chops into but it tends to be more performance, rather than communal music that invites the congregation to participate. Granted a younger bunch will respond to the contemporary music (yes I do several songs like this in a youth setting & they love it) but it kinda becomes more "in concert" than song leaders in a house of worship, like I said - a slippery slope I'm guilty of falling into the "performance" abyss more often than not. A question I always ask myself & pose to the choirs (I have five) is... who's glory are you doing this for?
  8. Man, didn't see that one coming...
  9. Fixed!! Here are the step's for anyone who get's caught in this snafu... The TFX option in the FA-06 is a system setting, so this will apply whatever effect you have here to every sound (as you have noticed). To change this back: Press MENU. Cursor to "Effects Edit" and press ENTER. Press the #6 button under the screen (which says "TFX" in the screen above the button). Turn the dial to select "00:THRU." This will turn off the overdrive effect. Press the #6 button under the screen (which says "System Write" in the screen above the button), to save this setting. You will probably want to use the MFX option for a sound like overdrive that affects only a single sound (or a few sounds). The MFX setting is saved with each tone separately.
  10. Didn't create a back up file (stupid I know). Overdrive is on all instruments & yes I just turn the overdrive off and life good until I turn the unit off & back on. I sent an email to Roland but that can be a long long wait for a response.
  11. I unlocked the icon, turned off the overdrive and the unit is fine. But when I turn the unit off & back on the overdrive returns like the undead ... don't know what to do.
  12. Hi, Here's something strange. On the FA-06 I opened menu, effects edit & added overdrive to a Saw Synth lead, pressed write and liked the sound but the overdrive was applied to ALL the programs / tones. I went to menu, effects edit & turned off the TFX on the overdrive in the block chain & pressed write hoping to get rid of it but the overdrive is remaining on all tones!!! How do I remove the overdrive effect so it's not global? Please help Thanks
  13. I-missRichardTee, what keyboard do you use for your LH bass? For my duo I use the FA-06 & sounds pretty good through the SS.
  14. Thanks Timwat. The duo is a drummer-singer & me on keys & vocals. I'll run everything through the SS & see how that goes. The venues for the duo are around 100 or so people in either a patio & large room setting. On another note hang in there Aspen!!!
  15. Would a GALLIEN-KRUEGER 112MBX BASS CAB 100 WATTS & the SS be sufficient for a small duo?
  16. Every time I play the piano & keyboard I feel connected, healed & even complete just like the first time; the SS brings this out even more. I know the music theory & some of the physics behind it & it's cool to be "aware"... but I like the Aspen (the teacher & inventor who could school us all here) approach best - "magic". Well done maestro!
  17. Played a couple of outdoor gigs this past weekend & the SS was fantastic. I'll try to post some video. Aspen I thought about you when I was watching an interview with Josh Groban. He said an entertainer gives the public what they expect & want, an artist gives them what they didn't expect & need.
  18. Tried it & no luck. Thanks again Dan.
  19. If this has been asked already my apologies to the citizens of the Forum. I want to run a Roland VK-8M through my FA-06, but I need to have the VK-8M & the FA-06 on their own separate midi channel so when I scroll though the favorites the VK-08 won't be called up unless it's the Studio Set with the same midi channel. I'm sure I'm overlooking some obvious answer. Thanks
  20. Jazzooo, so you're not in the house system? Sounds pretty good, where was your volume level at?
  21. DB, what's your approach to running the SS FOH?The soundman (we call him sandman, sometimes sleeps at the board) want's to mike the SS but I'm thinking running direct.
  22. The baffle is not necessary. It's good for some situations but not all (I use it mostly at church & that works great). I'm also facing it down on a small amp stand & the reflection off the hard floor & wall also has a nice wash. It's what works for your specific needs... it's all good.
