I peg it as a Wurly as well, but it got me wondering -- could it also be a Hohner Pianet?

I also wonder, did Danny Elfman have have a bit of the Jetsons' theme running through his subconscious when he wrote the opening to the Simpsons?

That was my thought, sounds like a Pianet to me.

The other thing that surpasses my expectations is the resale value of Nords.  It is crazy how those things hold their value.

This is true.  I have owned 6 of them, all purchased new:

Electro 3 paid 1695 sold for 1400 (2 years later)

Nord Wave paid 1940 sold 1850 (2 years later)

    Stage 2 paid 3400 sold 2400 (6 years later)

Lead A1 paid 1800 sold 1400 (two years later)

The definitely hold their value better than any electronic instrument I have ever owned.  My Stage 3 is one of the best purchases I have ever made.

In terms of summing to mono, does the Key Largo have the ability to do that? (I've never used it before, so I have no idea)  If it doesn't, you'll have to buy a stereo to mono DI/summing box that takes 2 1/4" inputs and sends out a single XLR.  A Y-adapter won't work for this, the way most of them work is they take 2 unbalanced TS connections and merge them to be a single balanced TRS connector, which would result in your right channel trying to cancel out your left channel.

The Radial KL-8 does this.  I have my stage playback set to stereo (monitor out) and the Main out has a switch that sums to mono and sends it out of both the left and right outputs.  Very convenient, as I don't have to rewire anything.

Are you able to adjust the depth of the 2nd tier arms?  I would maybe want to shift the 2nd board up but forward as well.

I actually cut 3 inches off of the top tier, so it is that much longer from the factory with these pins at the end to hold the 2nd board in place-

Funny, that was my number one favorite synth out of the tons of synths I had over the years. Had mine for ten years, the longest I had any synth.

I had a Minimoog I bought new after lusting for one for years, Sold it about a year later for $650. It just wasn't my kind of instrument.

I loved my WS as well, had the 500th one made in 1993 kept it until 2018.  One of the coolest synths ever. Useless was the Roland AX-7 Keytar, impossible to program. I also bought the Korg RK100S in 2014 and sold it this year for what I paid.  They never updated the editor software, so it cannot be programmed on any modern computer-

I'll really only be using it in sitting position with a single tier, so that all sounds good!

Then you will love it.  Also in your price range.  The two tier is over $200 now, and I bought my last one for $120 last year.

I only say this because this is why I returned my QSC’s.  For cocktail lounge volumes they are great. But if you are performing with bands that require louder sound levels, they totally fall apart and sound “honky”. Lots of midrange with reduced highs and lows.  The EV’s thrive at these louder sound levels.

Interesting, this has not been my experience at all.  I played with a very loud band just before moving to Nevada and the QSCs sounded great, and I really hate "honkiness"

  8. The Omega is great if you don't have to move it.  I found the K&M 18880 and 18881 stacker are perfect.  Lightweight (<10Lbs) , set up and tear down are 20 seconds each. Very solid (better than the Baby Spider Pro it replaced).

About the same price as Omega. Best keyboard stand I ever owned.  It is so easy to move that I no longer need a spare to leave at rehearsal.

  9. I have experience with the QSC backorder situation as well.  Back in November, one of my K8.2s blew an amp module.  Even though it was four years old, it still had two years of warranty and I took it to my local QSC authorized repair shop.  I was informed by the tech that it would be April before he had the amp module and it is still sitting there in the shop.  I knew they were not available at any of the dealers, but I searched and found one from an Ebay dealer in a sealed box for $699!  I bought that (I play in stereo on stage) and sometime soon will have 3 of them.  The price has since gone up to $819 MAP.

  10. Your GLOBAL hit title limits certain hits like White Christmas, large sections of this planet are not Christian and hence this song will have no interest of any significant kind across most of the globe.

Just because something was a hit in the USA does not mean it was a hit globally.

St James Infirmary Infirmary is a great jazz classic but was/is it well known in India or Iran or Japan, hey it was not known of in Australia and my Grandkids have never heard of it.

The most well known and by association a hit has to be from marketing or an internet sensation, or something from a global event like Band Aid, crazy frog ringtone, the Macarena, Nesun Dorma, Gangnam Style.

If you want a Global response think outside the USA.

Think â¦â¦.. Happy Birthday to youâ¦.

When Randy Newman was asked in an interview what song he wished he had written, his answer was "Happy Birthday" and the "Tonight Show Theme"!
