Bought my first Leslie 145 there way back in '73.....
I bought my first (and only) Leslie 145 and combo pre amp at a place in Belleville, forgot the name. Probably not there anymore-

Wow, sad news.
I hope Robbies Music City on route 46 is still there. I grew up in north Jersey, and that was the place we got most of our stuff.

When I was learning the lower guitar part on keys, I used Transcribe by seventh string software. It is inexpensive and a lifetime license. It allows you to slow down the track (without changing the pitch), eq it so you can emphasize the part you need to hear, and loop it to repeat. Fantastic software for learning difficult parts.

My most common recommendation... K&M 18880 with a 18881 and/or 18882 stacker for additional tier(s). Super light, super easy/fast to set up and break down, lets you set up the boards almost any way you could want. (The 18881 can be flipped backwards if you want it to function more the way the Invisible did.)
I can tell you from experience that Scott is right, this is the best stand I have ever owned and only weighs about 7 pounds. Super solid without the crossboar. It is so easy to move in a single piece once it is setup to your liking. 18880 and 18881 was about $295 at Amazon. Expensive, but worth every penny.

Since I sing a lot with my bands, I never sit when playing. I've always played Rock and Pop music and stage energy and eye contact with the audience for me is a must, and it is difficult for me to be an entertainer while sitting down.

I have the Key Largo, it sounds great and is quiet. I've never actually done super-critical listening to compare it to anything, I just needed a compact keys submixer and got one partially because it has DIs built in.
Radial deserves a mention for sending me out a couple little washers for the jacks after they had somehow gotten loose and fallen off...no charge, they responded to my email about whether I could buy some by just sending me a few and were very friendly about it.I have the KL-8 and it is a great piece. I use the Pro D2 in my studio for guitar. Top notch quality-

You may want to try looking at lighting/photography transport bags. They make large ones with foam inside that may fit that gear-

The other point is that the price increase in Diesel affects the price of every single product including musical instruments.

Great stuff. I'd love to see a post on how you did that - or just a couple close-ups for inspiration. I might give that a try with my 18880...
First I filed down the appropriate part. I then had to basically hammer it in. I used the JB Weld when it loosened up a few weeks later, since then it does not move and probably will never.

DJ, How did you get your mic stand connected in that setup? I've been looking for a good way to do that but havent figured it out yet.
I took part of an old On Stage Mic Adatper (KSA 7575) and filed it down so it would fit in the square metric opening of the 18881. I secured it with some JB Weld. It is very secure, but is permanent. I then just attached a boom with a quick release sleeve.

Thanks to all for the feedback - very helpful as I need to make a decision soon.
Sales person said the Bose S1 is louder than the QSC. Nobody on the post voted for the Bose so far. Is he trying to make the extra $200 or is it better?
The QSC cp9 has the best reviews.
EVZXA1 gets good reviews for loudness and sound quality but some complaints about reliability. Also, only one 1/4 inch input.
I would go with the QSC on your budget, should sound great. You will need a small mixer as others have mentioned.

I saw Springsteen with David Sancious on keys at Max's Kansas City in NYC. Maybe 50 people there, tiny place. Bob Marley opened for him. Sancious strummed the strings of an old upright piano for the beginning of NYC Serenade.

I use the NS3 with the NW2 and program all my own sounds. We do a lot of 80s, and the NW2 nails all of it easily. Super quick to load samples. Kronos is very capable, but long boot time, steep learning curve, and discontinued. Also weighs 12 pounds more than NW2, and that is a big deal for me-

Manufacturers are now using external PSUs on higher end instruments just to keep the price down. Kurzweil is a good example. PC 4 88 at $2500 has a wall wart.

It is worth spending the extra $ on the Pro Go line. I have had three of these and they are the most protective soft case available in my opinion. I have one for my Wave 2 and one for my guitar. Unfortunately, the price has doubled over the last year-

I guess I'd rank my favorite multi-tier stands as K&M 18880 first, Invisibles a close second, Standatastic a more distant third... and I probably wouldn't bother with anything else.
You're right about a Standtastic limitation in keeping boards close... you might be able to do it with sufficiently shallow boards, like a Casio Privia on the bottom, pulled to the frontmost possible position on one tier, and a not-very-deep board above, set as far back on its tier as possible. Maybe? Mine isn't set up at the moment, I can't experiment. But even though that arrangement is my preference as well, it wasn't my concern for the things I was doing on the Standtastic. (If it were, I would have been using the K&M or Invisible which are naturally better at that sort of thing.)
I drilled an extra hole in my 18880 to get the boards close-

Would you be able to use this without the crossbar (like shown in the picture) or is the stand too unstable without it? I have some smaller boards that wouldn’t fit across the stand if the crossbar is used
Never use the crossbar, stand is perfectly stable without it. My boards are only 20 pounds each, though. This stand has no up/down movement at all and very little side to side even when playing aggressively. My Baby Spider Pro flexed a lot more than this stand.

K&M 18880 with 18881 stacker. You can flip the stacker backwards if you need to move the top tier board further back relative to the bottom one.
+1 for this suggestion. Lightest stand available, once your adjustments are made, set up and tear down are literally seconds. Being aluminum you can cut off 2-3 inches off the 18881 stacker if necessary.

So, is this a Nord Stage killer? 😛
I don't see how. The Nord Stage has Sampled Piano and modeled Organ along with a synth. This is an analog poly synth. Two completely different types of instruments.

Yep, if you have pitch bend and a wheel, that usually will be expressive enough for most applications.
