  1. hello Melbourne, Tequesta(Jupiter Florida here) It's not an issue with NI since it is working with Arturia 7 collection of instruments also garritan strings, and other plug-ins that I have but not these plug-ins when I call up a Piano sound. Arturia 7 works when I call up synthesizer sounds but when I call up a piano patch and hit the sustain pedal the sound of the piano cuts out, like a stucatto sound. need help...â¦.Larry
  2. need some help here. I am using fl studio 20.5 DAW. I have my Yamaha modx6 as my controller. I have a Yamaha FC4A sustain pedal hooked up to my modx6. works perfectly for the modx and some of the plug-ins in my DAW. works with some arturia sounds(synthesizer) Garritan strings, and many other plug-ins I have. I try to use the sustain pedal with NI pianos, fl studio pianos and it doesn't work. instead of sustaining it makes the notes stucatto. stucatto is probably the best way I can explain the sound. I have wrote to the NI site and someone told me to purchase one of those cheap square sustain pedals. when I hooked that one up, the polarity was wrong and had no switch to change the polarity. hopefully someone out there will have an answer to this problem.
  3. I am using fl studio 20.5 and am thinking of purchasing east west Hollywood strings, gold edition. read somewhere that this library is a bear when it comes to eating up computer memory, and that it does crash at times. would appreciate any comments about this software...â¦.thanx...â¦..Larry
  4. I am using fl studio 20.5 with my PC. I have loaded sample tank 3 and the Miroslav 2 orchestra that comes with IK multimedia complete studio pack. the plug- in crashes. I don't mean eventually but crashes immediately. I hit my sustain pedal and the program crashes. the lower octave on my keyboard when played, comes out distorted. I am using my Yamaha modx hooked up to my computer. my other plug-ins, arturia 7 or vb3-2 works perfectly. I have my computer guy loading these plug-ins who knows his stuff. I,m paying him $100.00 each time he has loaded the program after talking to Sweetwater techs and other help. 3 times already. any suggestions. I am hoping to get some refund from Sweetwater and apply it to purchasing NI Komplete 12, the one selling for $599.00 any opinion or problems loading 12 and just wondering how long does it take to completely loading 12 into my computer. any help will be greatly appreciated...â¦.thanx â¦..Larry
  5. would appreciate some advice here. I am looking to purchase a funky guitar vst(plug-in) for my fl studio 20.5 DAW. looking for funky guitar strums with wah-wah type pedal effects. similar to what you would hear on Tower Of Power songs or Earth Wind and Fire songs.

I am controlling fl studio with my keyboard and would like easy looping and strumming feature, like one key triggering. thanx in advance...â¦â¦.Larry

  6. hello, I was just wondering if anyone living near palm beach or Jupiter florida is willing to teach me fl studio 20. I really need the help and will pay for the lessons...â¦â¦...Larry...â¦.lsjanca@aol.com or 954-274-6631.
  7. I have no problem with the warts. I do have a couple of back-ups. first thing I do is get electrical tape, make a loop with the cord near the power supply block and tape the cord several windings around the block with the tape. that to me is the area which breaks, where the cord meets the block,
  8. I know I'm going to get flack on this. I'm reading, go to this city, these three clubs are doing great. great musicians there. go to Europe, which in an earlier post from me, I stated I talked to someone who worked for Bose south of London, and asked him what was the music scene there. he told me the same thing here, not good at all. THERE IS NO PLACE, ANYWHERE WHERE A MUSICIAN CAN MAKE A GREAT LIVING. THOSE DAYS ARE LONG GONE. I got lucky all my life, maybe some talent, some luck. I always worked. recorded with a couple of national acts, which I did not make a dime from. but I feel so sorry when like my bass player tells me his brother's kids from New York City, are interested in music, plays piano, sax and sings and they are really good. want to go full time in music. hate to say, just dreamers. from the original post from NOLA asking where to move to make a good living playing music. stay there, you're not gonna find it better anywhere else.
  9. hello there NOLA. should be heading there for my yearly visit shortly. my family moved from Buffalo to Baton Rouge. over 25 years ago I bought a house in Violet, just south of Chalmette. at that time I was playing Bourbon street at the old your father's moustache(next to the club where the legs were swinging out) 5 nights a week. I was making $125.00 a night. at the end of the gig, I loaded up my equipment on a wagon and went across the river to Algiers at a club named the cellar club, owned by Charlie Koviak. was making $165.00 a night for four nights a week. the cellar club gig started at three thirty in the morning and went for at least four to five hours. place was ridiculously packed. bartenders and bar maids with pockets full of tip money, club owner's and sober patrons made that the most unbelievable gig I ever did. the 4-piece band was named Rock Island. after a while I moved to south Florida about 15 years ago. the music scene back then was incredible. bar after bar, some walking distance from each other having full 5-6 piece bands every night of the week. right now basically no bands some duos and mostly singers with I-pads. basically a Karaoke act. someone wrote about Buffalo, N.Y., I don't know where the gigs are there. been there a few years back. two years ago went to Vegas, stayed at the Bellagio. the only live music there was a piano player a few nights a week. planet Hollywood a band there and old downtown Vegas a band playing outside there. nothing else. as far as NOLA is concerned Bourbon and Frenchman's have some good acts, but I doubt if the pay is anywhere decent. back in the day when I was there Sally Townes(the queen of Bourbon) and Randy Hebert were making well over a thousand a week. I don't know about Randy, but I know Sally moved to Florida then to New Mexico. this December will be three years that I retired from playing gigs. I was very lucky playing out all my life from playing Canada for four years, to NOLA to south Florida. the last year playing out, I was clearing just over $85,000.00 a year. today I doubt anyone can make a living in music. the $100.00 a night was the pay scale back in the seventies. with the set-up time and tear down time for a gig, the gig itself, and travel time, what are you making an hour. let alone the cost of the gear. I really feel sorry for the young kids thinking they want to do music for a living. It's over. I spoke to people in England and even there it's bad. the DJ's are making good money for weddings, etc. and taking the jobs from the bands. sometimes the bands are at fault, not playing what the crowd wants to hear. I remember playing a gig in the panhandle of Florida where there were four clubs under one roof with live entertainment. top forty club, place was jammed. dueling pianos club, jammed packed. classic rock club, jammed pack. the last club where I talked to the musicians that said they don't play Brown Eyed Girl, My Girl, Funky Music, the club was empty. How I stayed working and making decent money was my ability to read a crowd and play the songs they wanted. it works all the time. and finally when you get to retirement age, what about social security, health insurance, etc. right now, I have my Hammond, bunch of keyboards, new DAW, my Bose system to keep my chops up. good luck to everyone...â¦â¦..Larry
