  1. first off thank you David for your reply.  I do have other synths in my collection to cover analog side.  I have a Yamaha MODX6 and a yamaha PSR-S950 ,Roland Jupiter XM,  Behringer Poly D, Deepmind 6, 2600, Korg minilogue XD, Prophet Rev. 2 and a Novation Peak, along with many Plug-ins.  this just sounded a little different to me.  I do record but more than anything I am a sound freak, buying all the available voice libraries for my synths, going through them and editing to my liking, then saving them.  i also have GAS, seriously.  maybe it's me, but the gaia 2 just sounded quite different.  would appreciate any comments from anyone who already owns the gaia 2

I'd ask "What does the GAIA 2 offer that I don't already have covered?" You're well-supplied with both wavetable and VA options. It would be more of a balance if you went for a real analog synth or a ROMpler that offered sampled sounds of drums and guitars, for instance. It depends on your main goals and how you record your work.

If you want to utilize a DAW, consider a mixer (or a bigger one than you have now) that will feed it readily. If not, look into trackers that will let you use each of your synths for Berlin-style music, as one example. Your Korgs and Argon 8 already bring keys to the table, so its a matter of finding a balance between your existing gear, your studio space and level of "disposable" income. In Synth World, GAS sometimes means "I can buy it without losing my home or my wife." 😜

  3. I like the sound of the gaia 2.  wondering if this would be a good addition to my collection since I own Korg wavestate and modwave, Argon 8, Hydrasynth desktop, Waldorf blofeld and Waldorf Iridium desktop in my digital collection.  any comments would be appreciated.

Unless the fuzz has been EQed out of it I reckon Day Tripper is a Farfisa, it sounds less like a polyphonic kazoo than a Vox.

Reach out might be a Farfisa too, possibly through a Leslie, imo it doesn't have the body of a B3, though a B3 can do a pretty credible combo organ emulation and it might be a B3 with vibrato on and some EQ.

definitely not a hammond, transistor organ.

  5. I did play a couple of outdoor events and private parties.  never had a problem but came close.  I would never do an outdoor gig with the money that the job pays today.  It would have to be somewhere in the 12 hundred dollar range for me to even consider.

Bluetooth or wifi won't work, right, but there are systems that will do the job with adequate latency, usually marketed for guitarists: https://www.sweetwater.com/c995--Guitar_Wireless_Systems

I don't know if any of them handle stereo.  I suppose you could just hook up two of them?  Yes, in theory, interference with wifi can be an issue, depending on the technical details.  In practice I don't think it's likely to be a problem unless there are a ton of wifi networks visible from your music room.

The transmitter in all the systems I've seen is battery-powered, so you'll be spending a lot of time swapping batteries.

Wireless is great for live use with microphones and portable instruments, but I'm not sure why you'd want to use it at home.  Separate control room and you don't want to make holes in the wall, maybe?  If you can share what problem you're trying to solve, I bet people would have more ideas.

I have 14 synthesizers in my music room.  my mixer is on one side of the room and my other synths going into the line mixer is on the other side.  I can reach the mixer from the line mixer with a 20 foot cord.  unfortunately it goes right over the bench and pedals on my hammond organ.  kind of don't want that.  my only other option is to run cords behind and around my hammond using a Di box and longer cables.  was wanting the easier wireless if possible.

  7. any suggestions on a wireless system to hook up stereo out of my line mixer, which I have synths plugged into, into two channels of my mixer in my music room.  my music room is small, 11 by 12.  will I have any problems with wifi in my computer.  thank you in advance.

Absolutely, the sequencer transmits over MIDI. I have both the Poly D and the B2600 and love playing them together - though I'm more a fan of the arpeggiator than of the sequencer, in all honesty.

    thank ypu

  9. just wondering if the sequencer on the Poly D would control (if midied to either a behringer model d or behringer 2600).  wondering if I play a sequence on the poly d, would the sequence play on either of these synths.  thank you.
