  1. I've also loved my Roland products over the years. Jx-8p, Mc-50, jv-80, xp-80, fantom x8, cube 60 amp. The FA08 is my main board now married with a cheap maudio 61 key midi keyboard. I really love the Fa08, its got all the essential stuff i need to perform in a covers band. None of the products have been perfect and a couple had issues that needed repairs. I've also owned and enjoyed some korg keyboards along the way. M1, Triton Le, Triton TR. The 2nd hand motif xf7 I purchased a few years ago, a great board also, but started playing up and has been in for repairs 3 times but the they have been unable to eliminate the issue. There are so many keyboards from all the different manufacturers that I would love to own if i had unlimited funds.
  2. Very very classy. You guys are very talented. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Awesome track. I really enjoyed that. Great work
  4. That's terrible, terrible news. RIP Jimmy.... BluesKeys
  5. Due to a forced change into a smaller motor vehicle, my previous 2 keyboard rig wont fit. So in an effort to reduce size of rig and minimize purchases, im going to use my Roland FA08 with a very old MAudio 61key midi controller i have lying around. My only concern is not having a backup in the unlikely event of the FA08 dying at a gig. Am thinking an ipad with Korg module just to scrape through a gig should be enough.
  6. All our bands gigs up to 1st Aug were canx and we're waiting to hear about 7th and 15th Aug. During this lockdown we have been booked for a NYE gig and just locked in our 1st gig for 2021 in Jan.
  7. What the.... How good. Thanks for sharing Tim.
  8. Used to stand but broke an ankle a couple of years back so was forced to sit through gigs during the rehab period. I really enjoyed being able to hear my foldback wedge a whole lot better so I've been sitting ever since. I do accept though it definitely does detract from a showmanship point of view.
  9. I bought Setlist maker and a AirTurn BT-105 to use with my iPad 2 about 8 years ago and have been using both since. I also use it to send all my MIDI changes to my keyboards when I change song during gigs. There are a lot of other great apps already mentioned in this thread that do the same. Lots of great choices. Forscore seems to be very popular out this way. Whatever you choose, takes Sven's advice and go to the effort of setting up the App to take advantage of midi capabilities. The time invested will be worth it. Re: Airturn BT-05. I've always gigged with it plugged into usb power. The battery doesn't hold charge after all these years and i don't really need it to run on batteries.
  10. The Bird and the Bee Tribute to Daryll Hall & John Oates
  11. I was lucky enough to see Phil in Sydney last year. He sang well and his band was smoking. It was a great concert.
  12. What a great space. Congratulations. Enjoy
  13. Unbelievable. Loved this. Thanks Dave and Michael.
  14. I pretty much do similar to you Paul. Maybe the order varies a little and as others have mentioned i also try to obtain any cheat notes/charts that are available on the net and have this info put into set list maker app on my ipad. When i'm not in front of the keyboard prepping I also have the you tube links playing in the background whenever i can. ie: In the car, walking to work, in the background while i'm at work. etc. It really helps those unfamiliar songs become embedded in the memory to the point where its as if the songs were your favourites when you were 17 and were all you ever listened to If i'm not having any band rehearsals, i know i am ready to gig the songs when i can play along with the you tube links without sucking
  15. Awesome work David & Eric. The Keyboard Chronicles is my first ever podcast subscription. I'm late to the game
  16. I ended up buying the Rock n Roller R12RT 2 years ago. I don't know how i lived without it. I should have purchased it many many years ago. Cheers
  17. Well done fellas. That was great
