  1. Having a Mojo61 my opinion is that the springs are softer, less springier than the Fatar TP8O in Nord Stage 3 Compact and Doepfer D3M. I think the modifications done by Crumar is softer springs and maybe lifting the key sensor boards beneath the keys a millimeter or so closer to the keys to get a slightly higher trigger point. The big difference are the springs. There is not much else to do to modify a TP8O if anything.
  2. Does the NE3 handle the triple sensor midi information from the VPC-1? The Nord Stage 3 does not so I am just curious.
  3. Check that the software you are planning to control handles the triple sensor midi-implementation of the VPC1. I hoped to use a Kawai MP11 to control a Nord Stage 3 Compact but found that Nord did not react on retriggering via the middle sensor. Just a tip.
  4. How willl this box be stable after connecting 11-pin Leslie, power, audio, midi cables? Welding or glueing?
  5. I have both the MP11 and the ES8 from Kawai and find their actions both to be excellent. When playing these instruments a very important part of the feeling is related to the triple sensor action making retriggering of a key without cutting the sound essential. What I find strange is that few (nobody) seems to be concerned about how a triple sensor action midi controller works with other sound engines. Tried my MP11 to control a Nord Stage 3 with little success. All retriggering from the MP11 middle sensor is not retriggering the NS3C. Only keys lifted above the upper sensor generates sound on the Nord.
  6. Good idea. However based upon experience with a Kawai MP11 with triple sensors action and Nord Stage 3 Compact the benefits with triple sensor does not translate via midi from the controller to the Nord. I think this is an area with lack of real or de facto standards.
  7. Some years ago there was a discussion about the claim that the HX3 clone engine only needs 50 microseconds to produce audio: https://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/2701012/Re_UHL_organ_w_HX3_inside Having some spare time this Christmas I got the idea to do some amateurish testing. Not being able to measure the absolute delay I ended up comparing the HX3 against the Mojo61. Connected midi out from Mojo61 to midi in on the HX3 expander. Configured the Mojo61 to trigger at the high, fastest, sensor. Connected the left audio out from HX/Mojo to my Novation Audiohub interface recording into Logic Pro X. The Mojo61 is triggered directly from it"s keyboard while the HX3 is triggered via midi from the Mojo61. Triggered one single key and found that the HX3 actually produced audio about 2 milliseconds earlier than the Mojo61. Also swapped the inputs on the audio interface to be sure the measurement not was influenced by the interface or Logic. Next step might be to trigger both units via midi. I think I have a midi hub somewhere.
  8. The original Numa was based upon the KeyB, I suppose the Viscount Legend which is the latest incarnation of the KeyB should be a close relative.
  9. Well those cables shoulde be about 20 kilometers long to add about 1 millisecond of delay. Your ears must be exceptional :-) Speed of light is 300 000 km per second, speed of a signal in a cable is about 2/3 of that. Sorry that should be more like 200 km.
  10. If it"s working $150 would be a steal where I am living in Scandinavia. Here it would cost more like $1500.
  11. Actually I think you are correct, the CP4 is a dual sensor not triple sensor keyboard. Nowhere in the specs or documentation it is stated that it is triple sensor. My fault! However the first sensor is obviously placed rather deep since retriggeting is quite easy, but the damper is activated after each key return. The Kawai gives a very different respons with the tone sustainng through the retriggering.
  12. Please check here: https://www.norduserforum.com/nord-stage-forum-f3/nord-stage3-compact-played-by-mp11-problem-t18296.html I have contacted Clavia support and hope they can comment. Also will update my MP11 to latest 1.16 firmware and test again, thanks for your tip!
  13. I am using a Kawai MP11 to play the pianos of a Nord Stage 3 Compact. When lifting the key slightly there is no problem to retrigger the internal Kawai piano but the NS3 does not respond. Decided to monitor the midi output from the MP11. I play the key, hold for 3-4 seconds, retrigger the key 3 times and wait 6-7 seconds to finally release it: 12:09:25.323 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=87 12:09:28.809 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=19 12:09:29.179 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=26 12:09:29.690 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=18 12:09:36.650 [Note Off] ch=1 note=60 velocity=87 12:09:36.651 [Note Off] ch=1 note=60 velocity=87 12:09:36.652 [Note Off] ch=1 note=60 velocity=87 12:09:36.653 [Note Off] ch=1 note=60 velocity=87 Strangely the Kawai waits to send any note off until the final relase. But should the Nord still trigger on the four consecutive note ons? No rules or specifications how to handle this? This made me curious, tested with a Yamaha CP4 which works as expected with the NS3, retriggering from the lower sensor plays the Nord: 13:17:12.569 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=98 13:17:16.480 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=0 13:17:16.545 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=36 13:17:16.992 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=0 13:17:17.106 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=23 13:17:17.517 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=0 13:17:17.715 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=53 13:17:24.677 [Note On] ch=1 note=60 velocity=0 The CP4 sends note off (velocity=0) per triggering. This should indicate that the Kawai has troublesome implementation.
  14. The new version of the Mojo has an 11 pin Leslie interface. It should be quite obvious if you check the back panel of your Mojo whether it is present or not. Be aware that if your Mojo not include a 11 pin Leslie interface you will need a Leslie preamp with line input. The Leslie 122XB is 11 pin, but may include an optional card with line input, Leslie speed switch input and mains switch. Before eventually buying the Leslie 122XB you should check whether the Leslie includes this optional card or not.
  15. Yes, the pedal that was included with the second generation CX3 was a Yamaha FC7 rebranded Korg.
  16. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and considerations before buying the CP88. Regarding the keybeds of the CP4 and CP88 this statement confirms their keybeds are identical except for the textured surface of the CP88: https://www.yamahasynth.com/ask-a-question/cp88-keybed
  17. One octave is 12 halfnotes, my theory (Kurts theorem) is that each step adds 1 dB. Why make it more difficult than necessary?
  18. You will develop some cool moves when starting to kick the bass pedals while riding the expression pedal. Be careful with your teeth if singing too. Personally prefer sitting....
  19. Not only you having this experience, check: https://www.yamahasynth.com/ask-a-question/cp4-distortion-on-piano-sounds-with-volume-turned-up
