  1. I use my Numa with my ipad and iphone with USB and a hub - no problems. Do you get the buzz when the power supply to your laptop is unplugged?
  2. That's interesting. I have the Numa X 73 paired with a Stage 3 Compact 73. I love the action of the Numa but I find myself preferring to play the Nord pianos from it than it's internal pianos. I'm still tweaking things but the latest setup is Numa X lower and Stage 3 upper. I put the Nord in dual keyboard mode and play pianos and synths from the Numa and mostly organ from the Nord. I just wish the Nord had more adjustments for the organ. The extra heavy C3 drives me crazy!!!
  3. Kinda similar to my Mackie DLM8s. They're rated at 2000W ( right...... ) but they cut nicely on stage with more than enough bottom end when playing with a bass player. They tilt back in a similar way but the best feature to me is that I can accept a monitor feed from FOH and set it up so it's only present in the DLMs and doesn't send back out to FOH. This feature is invaluable and the sound engineers love that I can monitor within my rig. The 8" coaxials sound really good.
  4. I have a similar rig with the Numa X 73 and a Nord Stage 3 Compact. I use a Behringer XR12 for stage mix. It is tiny and very powerful. It gives me stereo D.I, outs and I'm able to take a monitor feed from the house into my system and send it to my DLM8s. I love the action on the Numa and the XR12 is a real swiss army solution. I can control the XR from my ipad as well as use it for charts.
  5. One more firmware update for the Stage 3 would be very welcome. I have a short list of improvements that would really make a difference and I think they are all possible.
  6. It would be nice to hear a comparison between the Rhodes sounds on the Numa X and the Seven below it!
  7. Hi Paul, I've been away from my computer, sorry I didn't reply sooner. You found the same info in the Nord forums that I did. I'm really interested to hear your impressions of playing piano on the Nord Stage 3 compact with the lighter springs. I will order a set in the new year for sure.
  8. I retired from Biomedical Engineering almost 10 years ago but I'm still running my electronic repair shop, mostly working on musical equipment. Authorized repair depot for most major brands. Keeps me out from under foot....
  9. I definitely plan to play a YC73 when I can get my hands on it. I just couldn't get used to 61 notes for anything but organ. My Mojo 61 covers that perfectly for me. I'm always searching for a single keyboard solution, the closest I have is the Nord Stage 3 Compact but the organ/leslie are not the best and I struggle with the keybed. Perhaps the YC73 is it! We'll see...
  10. Syntaur has a spring kit available that is supposed to make the Compact 73 keybed a little lighter, the kit is Part #PC3KC key return spring kit, and it includes 76 springs. I'm thinking about ordering one for mine but with the shipping costs and duty/taxes to get it here to Canada I'm holding off for now. I would love to hear how it works out if you get one, I'll likely order the kit sometime in the new year. Cheers, Ken
  11. This is all my fault. I just bought a NS3 compact. It never fails, the moment I commit to purchase, the price drops and a new model emerges. That said, the NS3 is so far advanced from my NS2 that it may take me a long time to wring out all that it has to offer, so, no regrets. It's a great addition to my fleet and offers a lot of great solutions.
  12. Mike, any time you're headed this way you can bring your YC73 and we can compare over coffee! Cheers, Ken
  13. Good luck Mike, I think you'll love it. It would be interesting to set it up side by side with my Numa X 73 and just compare sounds/features.
  14. I really like my Numa X 73. The TP110 is really nice for piano playing. I pair it with my Mojo 61 and anything else is iPad and USB. I might have gone for the YC73 but there was no stock at the time and the Numa fell into my lap. I liked the YC61 but the keybed didn't cut it for piano and, well, 61 notes....
  15. This is all good advice. I'm a Roland repair depot, if you need help feel free to contact me.
  16. Between the great USB implementation, the very nice TP110 action and the onboard mixing feature, not to mention the very good onboard sounds I absolutely love my Numa X 73. I will choose it over my Nord Stage depending on the gig. I can connect my iPad and pair the Numa X with my Mojo 61 and my rig is complete. No regrets about ditching my YC61 for the Numa X.
  17. FWIW my Mojo 61 with its lower manual measures just under 3" keytop to keytop.
  18. Long time Nord user here. I've never seen them as over priced. I've owned several Electros and several Stages. I usually get most of what I paid back when I sell a Nord. I still have a Stage EX 76 with the TP100. I can honestly say that I have never had a failure with any Nord. They are absolutely bullet proof. And beautifully intuitive on stage. I choose the weapon that suits the gig, I also have a Mojo 61 with lower manual and a Numa X 73. My most comfortable rig has been the stage over the Mojo 61, although the Numa might be edging the Stage out now due to the TP110 and the great USB implementation with my iPad. It's great to have options.....
  19. Just saw Pat Metheny doing a trio show. All great players but very uninspiring to watch. Lyle Mays was the main attraction to me. Sorely missed.
  20. I just checked my Ravenscroft piano on my iPad and I can turn the sustain pedal noise right off. I'm not sure what's going on with yours.
  21. I don't think these nuances are important to me. I have to say I love playing the TP110 after years with my Nord Stage TP100. No bounce!!
