  1. I saw FM live about 3 +/-  years ago in Sacramento, CA.  They were just back from a Canada tour and Christine McVie was back with the group.  Lindsey Buckingham was still with the band and he was just fantastic.  Later in life when he was omitted from the group, I was omitted from the future audiences as well.  This was my favorite lineup, and I still love their music.  I probably will not buy future tickets as Lindsey really kept things alive and I miss him too much. Not discounting the other guitarists that have played with the band over the years...😎

  2. I had a Fender hockey stick Coronado 12 and wisht I had never sold it...Not a real fan of playing 12 strings but my buddy has about 5 Takamine acoustic 12's.  They are very easy to play and sound great plugged in for their price range...😎

  3. Thanks for the info...Kuru and Danny.  I can't stand the gray and black with white lettering.  Didn't know how to change it, then found "Theme" at the bottom of the pages.  Clicked on it and chose Default.  Got thing back to normal!👍

  4. Rest in Peace Don Wilson...

My 1st band was a Ventures tribute band back around '65 (before there were tribute bands).  We were High School kids that played Ventures tunes by ear and did quite a few gigs until '69.  3 of us still get together to this day and enjoy playing the old Ventures tunes...You will be missed Don.  I was the rhythm player in our band and we will always have this in common.... 😎

  5. Very cool Dave!  The first time I saw Tommy, I was in the nose bleeds at a Sacramento theater, and he didn't look that big.  The 2nd time I was in the 2nd row at a PBS taping studio and was amazed at how tall he is. Both shows were excellent sound wise as he travels with his own sound man.  But being up close and watching those fingers on the fretboard really adds another dimension to the show!  Great pics! 👍

One of the most amazing shows I've ever seen.  Seriously....I sat there with my (masked) jaw in my lap for most of the show.

I've seen Tommy twice and am now due for another Tommy fix.  +1 one of the most amazing live audience shows.  Speaking of which, if you look around the audience you'll find all of the guitar players (at least 1/2 the audience) are mesmerized and have their jaws in their laps LoL! Every guitar player should see Tommy up close just once if possible.  I'm going to attend a show by Pavlo tomorrow.  He's a world-famous guitar player out of Brazil.  I think watching extremely talented guitar players renews our faith in that the guitar will never die!  😎

  7. jeez, I thought this thread was going to be about Joe Bonnamassa.

We drift off from time to time

+1 DBM and Doerfler...here's a clip of Joe Bonnamassa going straight in and demonstrating the Gibson Les Paul wiring, pups and controls that I found very interesting:

Towards the end this one gets into the middle position:

  8. Get up and go to the show when a guitar playing icon comes to town and you will renew your faith in the guitar living on forever. I have watched some extremely talented players and have sat in awe down in front. I come away knowing why the guitar is such a wonderful instrument. Here is someone I have never heard before but I'm going to try and get tickets this month to keep hope alive! :thu:
