  1. Anything new in this space? I have an A-800, it has the lever-paddle style, easily my favorite. Wish this style was on more boards.
  2. What if Tay Tay asks you to do a one off? Maybe not a dread or drag, but might cause some anxiety.
  3. that would be great…. and maybe set up sections for Yamaha, Roland, Mainstage, et al? Maybe they already exist, I just haven’t drilled down
  4. You may have already answered this…. how are you listening? From the iPad speakers?
  5. As a keyboardist, I totally know how Leo and Hef feel "their mere presence was seemingly enough to get women to throw off their clothes."
  6. Dialog from Deep Impact - school rally scene, entire town is present to hear from teen Leo Biederman about his discovery of the comet. Leo and a teacher are on stage, taking questions from the audience: Kid in audience: "You know, you're gonna have sex a lot more now than anyone else in our class." Teacher: "Don't listen. Don't." Leo Biederman: "Really?" Teacher: "Thank you for your sexual insight, Mr Thurman. You can sit down now." Kid in audience: "Famous people always get sex, Mr Perry. That's the main reason it's good to be famous!" Rally audience erupts in applause
  7. I’m on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, I think it’s incredible, other worldly. And this is coming from a guy that grew up playing “California Rock”, Neil, CSNY, Eagles, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell, Loggins & Messina, more. I consider Old Man a priceless treasure, to be exalted and revered for generations to come. With all that, when I heard BM’s version, I was pleasantly shocked and hypnotized, a similar reaction to many of the other covers he’s doing. I heard some years back, a cover is best when it meets or exceeds the original. I think this meets that criteria, musically and emotionally, and pays profound respect to the original.
  8. I’ve had this problem a few times. I’d announce I was dating, and immediately there would be an outcry from my millions of keyboardist loving groupies. Dating announcement backlash
  9. I did, thank you! I'm slowly making my way through, it's a journey 😁👍
  10. Trying to understand the problem here? Lachey for President
  11. Here's another live show with an all star lineup in Japan. Check out an Oberheim making an appearance around the 3:45 mark.
  12. Does anyone remember a few years back, one, maybe two new folks trolls came in and starting lobbing bizarre & crazy negative posts? Edit - fixed. As I recall, I think they got booted pretty quickly.
  13. somehow I missed around 8 months of this thread. OMG!!🤤
  14. Here's another one - I could put this on a loop and listen to it all day, all year. Someone has listed the songs, easy to jump around. Bittersweet and Nirvana to start, amazing.
  15. I'm interested in the covers. Blackbird, for example - I find it mesmerizing, I could put it on a loop and have it play for a hundred years. There are scores of Blackbird covers, from locals to celebs, this surpasses them all in my view. Part of it is the attempt to play guitar on the piano, extremely cool the way he has done it, on this and many others. And it's not a fluke, happenstance, apparently he's been working on this for many many years, slowly but surely evolving, paring down to the bare emotional essentials.
  16. Starting a thread to post up some of y’all's favorite performances and songs by this great keyboardist. Here’s the one that got me started. The subtle pauses/hesitations throughout are cool as s***. I’m sure there’s a more appropriate musical term other than hesitation for those moments.
  17. please please.. I don't know where you get off posting this is in a Beato bashing thread? Please go back, rethink your life choices and come back when you've figured it out. (totally kidding if it's not obvious! Very cool indeed!)
