  1. Oh Noooooo. Not MPN. Korg forum, still in maintenance??? And now this. I must say I completely understand David's point. And a huge thanks for contributing the amount of time and effort into MPN. From me to you, David, THANK YOU. (but hoping it stays alive)
  2. Just based on how long it's been down. I have no inside info. Didn't mean to infer I knew anything concrete.
  3. Looks like the Korg forum is down for good. Shame. I learned a lot from the users of that forum.
  4. I've been using a single board set-up for more years than I can count. To me, it's so worth the time and energy to program whatever splits and layers I need to get through a gig. Of course, you need a board that is capable of everything you need. For me, it's the Korg Kronos. As much as I HATE and I mean HATE using a 61 key keyboard, I've been able to manage doing some pretty complex setups using the Korg. Of course I have to use the switches for octave changes, but I've been able to pull off whatever is needed for a particular song. The huge advantage is, setup is maybe 5 minutes and you're not breaking your back because of weight. Unfold stand, set keyboard on stand, plug in DI box and cables, sus pedal and you're good to go. Tear-down is lightning fast when needed. Of course, your milage may vary.
  5. There used to be a DX7 programmer years ago by the name of Bo Tomlin (SP). I remember going to a clinic he gave in Lancing, Illinois. When he played his acoustic piano sound on the DX7, I immediately purchased the programs. Nowhere near by today's standard, but back in the early 80's it was as close you could get on the DX7 platform.
  6. Most bands in my area use tracks so my band takes pride in an ALL LIVE performance, including the mistakes.
  7. This is where Kronos/Nautilus shines. Between Setlist and Scene changes, all of these issues are addressed with one button press or pedal press. I'd consider the Nord Stage 4 if had a bigger screen and Setlist mode like korg. Nord' does sound awesome though.
  8. Well, I'll comment on this, but I probably shouldn't. Anyways, I have a friend I've known for 40 years, we've played together in a couple bands. He was called up to play in a national act. I won't say, but believe me, you've all heard of them. He's been with them probably 8 years now and he's making easily quarter million a year. There's no smelly busses. Most gigs are fly-in, long weekend trips. No dumpy hotels. He spends more time in airports than anything else. He has the perfect gig, because he's home more than on the road. I know he's an exception, but when I first met him, I immediately knew he was going to make it in the music business, plus he's a hell of a nice guy. No ego, just a complete professional. Moral of my story, there are exceptions and sometimes, the dream comes true.
  9. A midi'd ventilator would be welcomed by me. Or a Korg Kronos VST would be more welcome. Or a whole lot more talent on my part would be really really welcomed.
  10. Surprised nobody mentions the Motion Sounds keyboard amps. Just my opinion, but stereo is a must.
  11. She's back, baby, she's back.
  12. Did Korg Forum finally bite the dust???? I hope not. For us Korg users, it was a great forum.
  13. Thanks Moonglow. I am going to definitely explore that option. thanks again.
  14. Anybody know if it's possible to change scenes with some type of midi controller instead of using the touch screen? Not a big fan of using touch screen for live performance. Thanks.
