  1. We all lost a good friend to this community, Sue Steel. From a friend's post on Sue''s Facebook page: Sue Steel Obituary.
  2. thank you, I'll clarify/simplify. Steve
  3. You live in Durham now? We need to connect! I live downtown Durham.
  4. Lee Michaels and Frosty! What a team! Absolutely the LOUDEST concert I ever attended, June 1973 at the Detroit Masonic Temple. I think they were pissed off the gig shifted to this smaller venue from I think the Ford Theatre and decided to keep the power levels at the same setting...
  5. Jimmy was one of the main reasons I selected Durham as my next place to live after leaving the metro Detroit area. I got to know him quite well, jammed with him a few times, and had a blast every time. Jimmy was a great guy, and a great friend as well. He will be missed by many many people.
  6. Yes to this. I love my Verizon connected Apple Watch for many reasons. Steve
  7. I remember doing the encoder conversion years ago, and it was seamless. No soldering was need, AFAIR. Don't be so hard on DSI, tarkus--a lot has happened with DSI/Sequential since that board came out...
  8. UPDATE: Well, the trawler deal fell through since the sailboat deal fell through first. I decided to settle in Durham and rented a Tobacco Warehouse loft in the West Village. It is so cool! Jimmy Weaver and I have chatted and am looking forward to hooking up with anyone that wants to in the area. Peace.
  9. The trawler is currently in Oriental. I'm selling the sailboat in Michigan. I am following Tracey's FB blog--thanks for the tip! Once I get settled into the New Bern marina I'll start looking for a band to hook up with.
  10. Update: a lot has changed. I am purchasing a trawler and will berth in New Bern. Exciting!
  11. Will do. in August sometime. Looking forward to it. I'll bring at least a bass, maybe even my amp if i have enough room. Unless you can scrounge up some sort of a bass amp..
  12. SBL is wonderful. Well worth the price if one seriously wants to improve ones chops.
  13. And the music that interests you is...? Grey Anything.I easily cross genres. I consider myself a pocket player, ensuring the drive, working closely with the drummer providing the beat and basis to propel the tune; but, when the spirit moves me, and when helpful to the tune, rip off some astonishing yet tasteful licks/riffs.
  14. my plans are still coming together. I'm thinking early august. Still not sure where i'll land in NC, as i am thinking semi-retirement, and in the IT field can do remote projects. i can bring a bass and rig and we can all jam....
  15. wow! what an incredible response! heartwarming. although i know this is the Keyboard Corner, and i do play keys, i am really a bassist. so if anyone is looking for a pretty darned good bassist and backup singer...... -steve
