98 Volkswagen Passat. Great for carrying gear. I can fit a flight case for a 88 key controller, case for 76, and a 12 U case no problem.

Excellent car. love the sunroof. Confortable, sturdy car seats (big issue for me after a car accident 3 years ago). 70% of the cars out there will kill my back after a few weeks of use. Unfortunately selling it next month http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/frown.gif

Two cars - a Isuzu Rodeo 4X4, and a Mazda Miata. The Miata isn't very good at hauling gear or for going off road, but it sure is FUN... and reliable too (knock on wood)... it's got 250 K miles on it and still runs and handles like a dream!

I want a roadster and a four by four and I'm a happy camper. So I guess I'm a happy camper! I guess a Porsche Boxter might be nicer than the Miata, but I really doubt I'd be happier with that than what I have... and the price difference, as a point of perspective, is the cost of a Telefunken mic. Or a full 5.1 surround set of A.D.A.M. monitors! So even if the Porche is a bit better, I'm very happy with what I have and couldn't justify the extra money. Same goes with a different 4X4. The Rodeo works fine for hauling gear the relatively rare times I need to, it runs well (knocking on wood again), and goes just about anywhere I ever want to go (yes, I USE my four wheel drive!).

I couldn't fit my rig into a Corvette or Viper, so I got a 2K Dodge Dakota Quad Cab instead! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif For me, it's perfect. The full size back seat will hold my keyboards in SKB cases, or two full sized adults when I'm not moving gear. The extra short bed with a topper is plenty big to hold the speakers, rack, stands, etc. The coolest thing about it is the (Tim Allen voice) fuel injected, overhead cam, 235 horsepower V8! ar, Arr, ARRRR! I love getting on a freeway onramp and see some smart-ass trying to pass me on the right. I just stomp on the loud pedal and see his surprised ass fade in the mirror. Rock `n roll!

If money were no object, and I didn't have to move gear? I'd still keep my truck, but I'd add a full-dress Harley and a Beechcraft Bonanza. Okay, they're not cars. How about a `Vette, a Viper, or a Porsche 911. Or all three. After all, money is no object! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Peace all,

Steve

A Toyota Xtracab with topper for gigs, 160,000 miles, and an '88 Saab Turbo convertible, so red it hurts, 115,000 miles. As for a dream car, would sure like an '01 replacement Saab, but at half the price of my house....

A black '96 Nissan Altima that's filthy dirty right now. It's actually been a really great car. Yes, I can haul plenty of gear. During my band days, I had a little Toyota pickup, but I became the default roadie since my drummer drove a Chevette or something like that. But even now, I have no problem throwing two keyboards, stands, a Marshall cabinet/head and a guitar in there with room to spare.

I'm probably getting an SUV soon, being the trendy family type guy that I am. Perhaps a Mitsubishi Montero Sport. But if I were single and swingin' (and wealthy), I'd get a Porsche Turbo Carrera 4...always wanted one. Silver. Yeah baby.

I've been eying a mean Land Rover Defender for quite some time now. I try to resist test-driving the thing until I can afford to buy it though...

Guess we'll have to stick with our Ford Scorpio DOHC Ghia Sedan for another year... especially since GF and myself really lusts for getting a sailboat next spring.

Give me performance over luxury.

I currently drive a '98 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with tinted windows, a few mods and a tricked out stereo system (Sony Mobile-ES head, 10 disc CD changer, 21-band digital EQ (all digital signal path), Rockford Fosgate speakers/amps (2,000 watts worth), and dual JL Audio 12" DVC 12W3's ). I can't get everything in the trunk, but I've learned to travel with just my Triton rack to gigs and hook into someone elses keyboard...Let everyone else carry heavy.

I am looking at my dream car for my 35th B-day next year-a BMW M5...

Call me mr. generic. '92 Toyota Tercel, '95 Suburu Legacy, just pre-outback. Funny, when I was gigging all the time, I drove a Civic.

Dream: a 9 foot Steinway grand...and a studio that it would fit in

A '93 Civic. It okay, but I'm young so I can still dream. My Monday thru Thursday will be a Honda Insight, Friday and Saturday a Ferrari Maranello, and Sundays a Bentley Arnage Red Label.

I had a 95GLX 5 spd for about 6 years until this past February Rod! LOVED it... German cars SO rock... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif

I now have a 2001 Civic, because my commute to work is 10.1 miles, 17 stoplights!!!

My dream ride would be an Audi A6 4200, or a BMW M5, or an M3.

My NEXT ride will either be an Audi A4, or I'm kinda in love with that Jag X-Type that just came out a week or so ago..

VW upped the ante on their warranty, BTW, for 2001. Instead of the 2/24 - 10/100 you had on your 98, it's now 4/50 bumper to bumper with scheduled maintenance, like Audi's warranty.

It'll be interesting to see how the public embraces a $40,000 W8 Passat in 2002, eh?
