Sort of, Bob... wacky, indeed. ;) The bass track I've got really fights against the melody and piano harmony... I showed it to a friend; he didn't liked it. But I do, so... who the hell cares.

I can assume the role of Mr C again, as the studio is now fully operational.

The thing is, I am waiting on a new Athlon64 pc for the studio, so it might do well for me to wait until that has arrived before jumping in.

I have been having a few performance problems with the present DAW, and it has become very frustrating to use.

That's cool, Dan...

Let's give Ren til next week to reply,

and if we don't hear back, you're Mr. C, see...?

If that's the case,

then you can start in when your rig is tweaked...

Thanks,

If so, how's it coming along?

If not, please let us know, so we can act accordingly.

Thanks!

Hey guys! I'm still alive. Sorry for the delay. I've been working on and off withTelePhone. I've been tied up with work and school and I haven't put enough effort to finish it. My bad.

So can I be Mr.D and Dan be Mr. C (as first intended)? Or am I out?

Ren,

If you're still into it, yes, be "D"...

If you think you'd have problems

with the next deadline, consider dropping out...

I'd like for you to stick with it,

but it's something you'll have to decide...

Let us know...

Why don't you send Bunny's "B" tracks

to Dan S. so he can do the "C" tracks...

Thanks,

Bob

OK!

HI!

Wow, this project started OVER A YEAR AGO!!!

Bob and I were spring chickens back then, but now we're old and grizzled.

And a bit jaded.

Heheh. ;)

SO...

I am assuming Ren did not send my tracks to Dan, so I have posted them on one of my websites (for the third time  ) for Dan to download, if he's still interested in being Player C.

Dan, if you're still into it, send me a PM, and I'll give you the URL to d/l my tracks.

Ya know what? I'm beginning to think that we're losing so many Player Cs because my tracks suck so bad.

I should fix 'em, huh, Bob?

They're way too loose and raw. I should fix 'em up.

Maybe that'll keep Player C around longer.

The weird thing is, out of all the Player Cs we've had bail, two of them have actually recorded all their tracks, and then bailed on the project after finishing! Weird.

Yeah, bunny...

I can't really explain this "Player C Syndrome"...

You've expressed concern over your

tracks before and I encouraged you

to redo 'em til they made ya proud...

The thing that struck me about them

was that they were so similar to mine...

I just expected everybody else's would

sound pretty different, yet complementary...

Ironically, even your piano part sounded like

the piano I did, but didn't send to you...!

Great minds track alike...!

If you do redo 'em,

don't change any of the cool stuff... :P

Ahhhg, what have I done...?

First, Bunny, I'm sorry if my

last post came across incorrectly...

I like your B tracks and think that

they'll work well with the A tracks...

They sound great with the A tracks...

And I found it cool in a far-out way

when your piano part sounded like the

one you'd never heard before...

But if you want to do any revisions

to anything, I guess now's the time...

And Dan,

Man, don't let me jinx this whole thing now...

By the time Bunny's finished up his tracks,

your system'll be all rung out and bangin'...

You know Project TelePhone would be a

perfect test subject for your new rig... ;)

Yo Bunny, did you send me Bob's tracks par accident?

I hear Bob singing "dark sky in the middle of the day", + bass, drums, piano & les crickets.

Weren't you supposed to be sending me guitars?

I is confuuuuused.

My tracks sound very similar to Bob's tracks. I was kind of going for that effect. In retrospect, I probably should have varied it more from Bob's version, but I was being literal about the "Telephone" concept. I was trying to pass along the same thing that Bob whispered in my ear.

The one thing I did do differently than Bob is record a piano track instead of guitar. Bob's version had nice acoustic guitars, so I thought I'd throw some piano in there for flavor, keeping in mind the final "Big Mix." Too bad I suck at keyboards. :freak:

Anyway, Dan, you have the right tracks. Have fun with your version. :thu:
