I needed a non-IEM monitor for some gigs and ended up getting a Yamaha DXR-10.  So far so good, I've yet to turn it up past 3 or 4, it's certainly got enough volume.  Sound is just ok but that is more on the fact that everything is mono coming out of my Nord Stage 3.  I've yet to encounter a piano that doesn't sound boxy and kind of gross in mono, I use the  White Grand which isn't as bad as some.   I used it as a monitor wedge last gig and vocals sounded great from it.   I prefer a wedge if I can manage to get at least 10 feet from the @#$! drummer and it's an outdoor gig.  Now, I wish I could find a way to have the wedge in front of me not getting me in one ear but not sure that is possible short of facing forward and playing my keyboard off to one side which I'm not even going to attempt :)
