All three of those pedals are really good, but are very different from each other, and react differently with different gear. My M3 dod not love the lester, but loved the vent. The exact opposite is true of the A-100. Another disclaimer: For live gigs, I use a nord electro 6, and use the internal sim. I know the nord's B3 sounds incredible with the vent, but the NE6's internal sim is really good, and I can't justify the minor hassle of another piece of gear. Thank You Nord.

Yes, my conclusion is that the simulators mentioned above (I have all) perform better than my 760 or 900 or MS Pro-3. The main reason: grit, balls, specifically overdrive effect. ***Disclaimer: My B2-122 combination is still the best thing I've ever had.*** I have sold the 760 and 900, after reaching this conclusion. The Vent handles my M3 (that I acquired from forumite Phil Aiken). Phil modded the M3 with foldback and quarter inch output. I route the quarter inch into the Vent and then into a Polytone 15-inch combo. It's really sublime. My A-100 (bought from Boss organ in Boston with Tyler Drabeck mods) used to run thru a 900. It was kinda dull and listless. Now it runs thru a Lester K into a Tube Driver combo (L) and a Polytone Combo (R). Incredible. Until yesterday, my Korg BX3 v2 ran thru a MS Pro-3 and Univox bass amp. Meh. My GSI is defective so I bought another Lester K. At first I tried to use the Lester as a preamp (no spin) before the pro-3. Couldn't dial it in. Then I went straight from the Korg into Lester into Polytone keyboard amp. I set the drive on the Korg to 3, and drive on the lester to 5. That's GOLD Jerry!

Has anyone noticed that the MIDI jack on Yamaha Reface YC is smaller than standard MIDI cable? I bought this as a practice B3 module to use with old school midi keyboard. It doesn't fit. What is the deal/way around it?

As far as true stereo keyboard in the house---forget about it. Always remember; If you never trust a soundman, you'll never be disappointed by a soundman. Forget about it. I love a true stereo live sound for myself. Run L/R into 2 powered monitors for yourself. Run a line off headphone jack into your DI into the house. And then forget about it. Enjoy the show. Do it up stereo righteous for yourself--give the sound guy a solid summed/mono signal, and then forget about it. Trust nobody.

I could be the dumbest of the dumb. I packed up my stuff and headed to an outdoor gig at a campground. There was a slight delay so I unloaded my stuff and placed it near the stage. When it came to set up, I couldn't find the keyboard. Figured I forgot it---Raced home about 25 minutes, only to realize it was not there...I must have misplaced my NE3 in the black case camaflouged by guitar cases one foot from the stage. This was marrijuanna aided of course. Note to self: smoke less, much less.

Charlie gets no love whatsoever. When all the guys and gals came onto the stage, he got the least love, and in the intros as well, but then again who cares. He does the Danny job very well, but he's more technician than rock star. The B3 was a bit low in the mix in Boston. I was actually blown away and inspired by Bruce in Boston. Kitty's Back was epic. Ghosts is now among my fave Bruce tunes right now, and maybe ever. God Bless them All.

Saw Bruce last night in Boston---fantastic. I couldn't find the Leslie, and I was close, behind him. Anyone know? Perhaps under the stage? Vent?

Agreed--I should take into account it was very cold in the basement last night, and maybe the fact that the keys are factory new, and might get less slippery with time/use.

I can corroborate niacin's findings. Just got mine yesterday. EQ is global, so if you don't disable your last EQ curve, it's here there and everywhere. It will remember your eq curve from boot to boot...on everything, so you've got to remember when to use or bypass eq by just hitting the EQ button. Not ideal at all. So if you like your piano bright, your organ is gonna be super-shrill. There is a way to open lid of piano with pitch bend/leslie speed lever and save that to a scene. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

ahhhhh....so when you adjust the 9-band eq, that affects the entire board until you bypass the eq button, correct? If so, that's really not so bad. So if I like my pianos and e. pianos bright, which I do, activate eq button, for every thing else just bypass. Not so bad. I guess I'm spoiled with the hammonds and nords as well. OT, but did original Vox and farfissa's have high or low trigger points. I thought it was hilarious in the manual where it pointed out that the tonewheel organs had a high trigger point and the next line down is "Default=Low". I've never played a real non-hammond combo organ of any kind. Check out Pigpen on what I think is a Kustom combo--luv that tuck and roll.

Here's the thing: A lot of boards don't sound great out of the box, and I'm an impatient bastard at times. I just went back to it, and sat down for 45 minutes and played with eq, effects, etc, and I'm beginning to like it more and more. I think the vibrato/chorus is bad, but if you set it to perc, and use just a touch of chorus on the effects section on the right, it smoothes it out a bit. I did read the manual, and even when I do RTFM, my brain doesn't comprehend manuals/textbooks so well. But just to clarify, Am I correct in thinking you can save EQ settings and effects in scenes, and it will remember them (w/ the exception of dynamics and nutoob drive which is fine). The manual is confusing to me. Thanks in advance for that info. I think I can make a good rhodes and wurly if it remembers my settings in the scenes. If not that sucks.

Interesting. I just took delivery of the VC73 BK today, sweetwater deal for 999. I needed a backup/rehearsal/ rig, and I was so lured by the price-drop. My live rig is a Nord E6 73 sw. Impressions: I actually liked the piano sounds, AP's and EP's. With some tweakage I could def. make good presets/scenes. But I can't play AP with that action. I was slipping and sliding all over the place. Dealbreaker. I have no problem with the NE6 action, even on AP. Didn't try clavs or any "other" key sounds on VC. I actually like the CX3 engine, shrill yes, but with the proper amount of EQ etc, it can be roped in, especially with a Vent. I have a BX3 and vent in studio and it's sweet. With no routing options and precious little tweakability, Dealbreaker. Didn't even deal with combo organs. It's going back. ps. If anybody want to give me what I paid for it have at it. We live and learn, not a huge deal.

If you're selling a good vintage keyboard/organ, you have to be willing to ship. Yes it's a PITA, but it opens up your potential clientele exponentially. I sold a Rhodes mark V to a guy in LA and he promptly shipped it to London for one of his guys. Everyone was happy. Similar deal with a Kurz K250. I'll use FB mktpl, Reverb, and CL...There's always a buyer if you've got something interesting/desirable.

I had to do it. I'm a happy NE6 73sw guy, but have always had a curiosity/lust for the Vox. Did it!
