  1. Hi, I have the NE4 and am not crazy about the internal Leslie. Is there any upgrade in the 5 or 6. Also, are there any other benefits to upgrading? Thanks
  2. I concur. Piano 3 on the original RD300 is sweet, expressive, cuts thru nicely live. It may not be totally faithful, but it's really nice.
  3. If that's not the internal sim, it's a sneaky, sleazy, snake oily way to sell product. If it is the internal sim, WOW!!!
  4. Just got the answer. In short, NO. In long, this is what Mr. Numa said to me: GG 4:29 PM (4 minutes ago) to me Hello, at the moment this kind of Pan feature is not implemented and there are various reasons: the first one is that this external effects epuld not be included in the Audio over USB feature that allows to send and receive digital sound to and from a computer. Another reason is that routing all other sounds to one channel only, all Stereo L/R sounds and FX would loose their full quality. That said, I cannoct exclude (neither promise, here and now) future updates on the matter. Let me know, thanks and regards. Gianni Giudici Brand Manager
  5. Is it possible to route all organs to one mono output (say left) and everything else to the other mono output (right). I'd like to be able to use the Vent or Burn without dealing with bypass. Thanks!
  6. Yamaha P-200. Always loved it. The speakers do maximum justice to the APs and EPs. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/385433332835059 paid 140.00
  7. I'm thinking about selling my Nord Electro 4 SW73. I'm no expert, but I really like the clav with the expression pedal assigned to act as the wha pedal. So to the OP, feel free to PM me. I use it 2-3 times a gig, and people really dig it, I dig it.
  8. Yes--He's Ray. It's not like he's ever moving it, and as far as footprint, not really an issue. I've got 2 double manuals for studio, and comparatively I'm nothing. It's not big deal either way, but on some of the vids he's using an Alesis QS something. I had one--it wasn't good..
  9. This is my experience as well. Perhaps the best one I ever used was a Boss fv500h, but they're 120 bux. Any expression pedal you use on a lot of gigs will fail after a few years. Pound for Pound, the FC7 is the best. 35 bux and a nice long throw, good quality.
  10. I like Paul a lot, I actually think he's got a wild and whacky sense of humor. I like Ron a lot, seems like a great hang. I want to like their shows, I just find both lacking. BTW, check out the Fagen episode--seems like Fagen is fairly annoyed...more than usual. I'll still watch both shows---there's enough good to counter the buffoonery.
  11. Just saw Paul Schaefer Plus One on AXS TV. The guest is Donald Fagen. He's on his Rhodes, sounds amazing. Paul is at an acoustic. So there's playing, and there's Q and A. I'm screaming at the TV---Paul would not shut the f up. Talked over Fagen consistently and annoyingly. Ron Wood has a similar show---not good. He just laughs and mumbles.
  12. This is your answer...get 2 and don't look back. I usually use just one and its great!
  13. It was a long, deliberate process, requiring time, space and an understanding spouse. I'm regretting that I didn't re-cap the tone generator at the time, but there's no way I'm cracking that baby open again. Thanks a lot ABECK. That knowledge allows me to not even consider it. THANK YOU!
  14. There's an M3 for 100 in the Providence area. I'm very tempted but the seller is a flake as far as communication. Also I would do exactly what ABECK did, but I cannot even screw in a lightbulb.
  15. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm trying to sell my VR-730 to Jeff or anyone else. It's in the classifieds. Me and Jeff have PM'd a few times. The below passage is part of my discussion with him. Obviously its not a hard sell, just some of my honest thoughts and experiences with the 730, the NE4 73sw, The Vent, etc: I've never had the FA7, but I bought the 730 because I've always loved the Roland acoustic and electric pianos, and I like the fact that the 730 has real drawbars and a good B3 tone. When I bought it, I already had a Nord Electro 4 73sw that I used with a Vent. I figured I couldn't go wrong--I'd determine which one I loved more for gigs, and use the other for practice in my office. Here's the deal: Every clonewheel organ sounds GREAT/BETTER with a Vent. I think the internal sims of the nord and the 730 are similar as far as how good they are. It's subjective. The 730 allows for more tweaking. Why did I choose the nord over the 730 for live? The nord allows you to separate the left and right outputs, essentially 2 separate mono signals---all the organs know to go left into the Vent and into channel one of my amp. Everything else goes right and into channel 2. No need to ever use BYPASS on the Vent---no need for a mixer. These are both huge deals for me on gigs. I use only one board on the gigs. The 730 doesn't have that feature. If you want to use one board, no extra pedals, no mixers, the 730 is the way to go. BTW, I did demo the 730 with the Vent---its unbelievable. If you can pick up an original/V.1 used for 300, do it.
  16. Yes--Yes. Studio Grand EQed brightly really works in a band situation. Sounds like shit on its own. But it cuts right through, sounds good on the live recordings.
  17. Thanks all for the input guys. The Leslie is the 900. I've decided against it. The Korg BX3--Vent for 0-drive--Leslie 900 is a pretty nice rig. I cannot justify the expense. Plus I have a B-2/122 which is the go-to
  18. This is just the kind of support I was looking for, yearning for, begging for.
  19. Assuming it's in good working condition, and you're not a rabid anti-choppite, would you pay 1200 for a chopped A-100, delivered, even if you don't really need-need it? *I have a B-2 and a few clones, but have always been intrigued with the A-100, mainly because it has some goodies my B-2 lacks.
  20. I live in Providence, so I heard all about that---on Saturday i had a gig in Newport...last time i did a gig there i told myself never again--too bad I didn't listen to myself. NEVER again, and NEVER Block Island again. Nothing but manic traffic, annoying tourists, and overall asshat managers that think you're lucky to play at their useless yacht clubs. You're not!
  21. I did something similar---got two Dewalt boxes, 12 inches high apiece--I put all, but only the gear I will need for the particular gig in one box. I put all the backups and various contingencies in the other box. The boxes have reciprocal velcro, fitting together perfectly, which serves as my seat---24 inches high, which is exactly what I require. No need to ever bring a seat. I love it. And its not uncomfortable at all, in fact I like the added surface area for my arse. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10210828614546396&set=pcb.10210828645267164&type=3&theater
  22. I was unclear---I meant the Pod was better than any little tube preamps that I've used. The Tall and Fat is Much Much better than the Pod. Greg Loundsberry was probably plotting my demise.
  23. I'm surprised by this. For years I experimented with tube preamps, many different products, swapping out tubes, using NOS 12au7's etc. to no avail. This is between clone and my solid state Leslie 900. All it did was add noise, not warmth. Then I bought a Loundsberry Tall and Fat, no tube, FET circuitry. It was worlds better. In fact my Line 6 POD was even better. I came to the conclusion that the built-in single 12ax7 or 12au7 was just a lure, but useless in practice. The tube on my Pro 3 was useless. So I'm not doubting you, and happy that your happy, but surprised that it's a big thing as far as a positive. And just to be clear, I have no experience w/ the VC, I'm a Nord guy (for gigs) that was not thrilled with its internal sim. I added the Vent, and the OD and leslie sim is exponentially better than those of the Nord. I think the Vent tubeless, a FET, not totally sure. Whatever it is, it is spectacular. Do you use the tube on EPs?
  24. Fender or Gibson? Big fight waiting to happen.
  25. Slightly OT, the other day I went in to my repair guy Butch to fix my BX3, and there was an old Korg SG1 sitting there. I used to gig with one, so I played a few notes for old time sake. Holy shit, the action was disgusting to me. How did I ever deal with that? I've sized down, play out with just one board now, either the SW electro 4 73 or the sw hammond sk1 73. If those actions are different, I can't tell and don't care---as a happy medium between B3, Rhodes, and Wurlie, I'm fine with either/both. All digital pianos sound crappy to me, so I don't go there too often. I've become very friendly with that sw action. Everybody's different--so Andrea and Guido shouldn't freak out because some people hate the TP100 action. They're gonna do just fine. I'm in love with the form factor, looks, and demos re the Seven. I'm not in a situation to afford a new board at the moment. But....when/if they ever came out with a 6-octave with sw waterfall keys, I'd be all over it like pachouli at a Dead concert---if you lose the legs, lose the hammer action, you take 15 pounds and 500 bucks out of the equation. That's me...we all want what we want. de gustibus non est disputandum....its the only thing I've retained from my Latin classes.
