hi does anybody know what synths where used on the  song  rock steady by the whispers

Tough one, could be anything, as the keys on it sound highly and processed, pretty much like a lot of the pop-R&B songs in that time period. It’s an LA-Babyface production, one of the songwriters is Bo Watson, the keyboard player from Midnight Star, and discogs album credits says Babyface played it:

Rock Steady

Arranged By [Rhythm] – L.A. And Babyface*

Arranged By [Strings] – Babyface

Arranged By [Vocals] – Babyface

Backing Vocals – Babyface, Gary Taylor, Grady Wilkins, Whispers*

Bass – Kayo (4)

Drums – L.A.*

Keyboards – Babyface

Lead Vocals – Scotty Scott*

Percussion – L.A.*

Producer – L.A. And Babyface*

Written-By – Babyface, Bo Watson, Dwayne Ladd, L.A. Reid

I can hear synth brass, a pad and some piano, no idea what synths they came from though, although given the 1987 release date I'd be surprised if a DX7 isn't partly responsible. An obvious point but I've got nothing else :D

These might help you dig further down the rabbit hole, but that sound is so processed, and LA & Babyface used it so much (I suspect this is more a story of effects than a specific synth..
