A-Ha Synth Rig from late 1980s

This article was inspired by someone posting a picture of the KB rig his dad played with Synth-Pop band A-Ha:

Awesome when kids are proud of and think their KB playing dad is cool.😎

The funniest thing about the pictured KB rig is that nowadays, those 6 KBs can be paired down to 1 or 2 KBs. 😁😎

Just curious, what are all of those keyboards? I can identify the top boards on each stand, the Roland Juno-60 and JX-8P, but what are the others?

Below the Juno is a DX7-II (and below it another DX7-II). Below the JX-8P is (I think) a D-50.

It appears the original recording used mostly a Juno-60 and DX7. They did some revised recordings before they came up with the hit version.

One of the most underrated pop bands ever- if you live in the US, it seems they still feature in those "One hit wonder" articles.

In the rest of the world they went from strength to strength after "Take On Me".

They have a fantastic body of work and many great songs. Of course, it's always nice to hear a band where the keys have parity with the guitar.

Kudos to them for their bittersweet, world-weary, beautiful interpretation of Take On Me from 2017. Not a synth in sight.
