RoccoD
I'm thinking of doing a few gigs doing standards in a solo or duo situation playing left hand bass. Not sure what the best way to go for getting a drum track to play to...is there a decent app for the ipad or vst for a laptop that could do this easily? Hardware? Not looking for something that needs to be programmed extensively, just looking for some canned standard patterns.

Rusty Mike
Drum Beats+ if you don't need count offs, intros or endings. Just hit play. .
b3plyr
Take a look at BeatBuddy. Will cost you a little but by far the most realistic I have heard and used. I use it all the time with my duo. Sound is very organic and doesn't sound like a drum machine. Singular sound
Doerfler
if you end up going hardware, BeatBuddy is the way to go
