So from what I gather, at least for ONE track, it's sort of a Triumph reunion.

That IS interesting! I always kinda liked that band, and wondered whatever became of them.

I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!

He fronted one of the biggest Canadian powertrio's back in the 80's. The man can play; he's got some serious chops. You might want to check out some YouTube videos. Hold On was one of their biggest hits.

Serious chops, indeed! Midsummer's Daydream - the obligatory classical guitar solo in the middle of practically every arena rock show (as Rik sort of describes it) is a great example of his versatility. I always used to enjoy the articles he wrote for GP every month as well.

Oh, and he has a helluva voice, too!

Never liked hair metal (80's metal) (or any metal truthfully) (I did like Satriani and Van Halen, but I would not call them hard core metal, more like hard core hard rock). So that is why I never heard of them or him. Never said they could not play well, never said metals guys in general could not play well, I just do not like that style of music much for my listening pleasure.

+1 not really knowing the band or Rik, I didn't care all that much for their music even though they are very talented. After a lot of talking to get past, I think Rik does a really great job on Midsummer's Daydream!
Take care, Larryz
