Phnymiboy
Very cool. Tony Visconti beaks down Bowie's "Heroes". Who knew Bowie played a Chamberlin on it? Nice. Love the Fripp and Eno combo. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03g18sx http://bigfun3.bandcamp.com www.facebook.com/BigFunThree
Doerfler
thanks for this. I will check it out later tonight. I thought it was common knowledge that Bowie used a Chamberlin, guess not.

J. Dan
Sort of amazing how awesome a song like that ends up sounding when you hear the individual tracks. MAJUSCULE
I haven't had time to check this out yet, but I am very excited. The one thing I will say... This thread title is very different if you just mistake one "o" for a "p". Eric Website Gear page

GovernorSilver
So good... Never occurred to me that there was so many layers of keys/synths on that track - Synthi, Solina, Chamberlain, etc. Yet despite all those layers, the final mix sounds so uncluttered, with DB's vocals in clear focus. Polkahero
Did they say how many tracks were available at this time? He said they didn't have enough tracks left for the vocals after all the synth and guitar layering. This was 1977, seems like they should have had at least 32 tracks by then? Phnymiboy
It was funny when Visconti said "Maybe I should re-mix it..no I better leave it alone." http://bigfun3.bandcamp.com www.facebook.com/BigFunThree
zxcvbnm098
They didn't say here, but I think I've read it was 24 tracks at that time at Hansa.

ElmerJFudd
It was a great watch. A lot of freedom to experiment in this process and what came out was this strange and ethereal record that resonates on a lot of levels and means something different to whoever is listening. Very personal listening experience. Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-
