  1. I gig all the time with my Stage 3, which is the most expensive board I've ever had. I gigged with the Stage and Kronos too. Now my big rig is a Viscount Legend, Fantom 08, Stage 3, and Nord A1, but that is used in theater situations where patrons can't get near me. But I've used the Stage and Kronos combo in many gig situations- outdoors, theaters, clubs. I have insurance on everything, even stuff I don't use live. I think the last time I had a problem was back when I had my original Electro. We had just gone on break and a guy was trying to step up onto the stage to give our guitar player a shot of Jager, he tripped and it went flying and landed all over the Electro. I got it all wiped up and never had any issues with it, but I wasn't real happy with the guy lol.
  2. We had an outdoor show Thursday night that we cancelled. Some other friends were joking that we used to play in smoke filled bars, whats the difference. Somehow I think the particulates are worse...
  3. I wasn't convinced it was Eb either but my guitar player picked it apart and the band all agreed he was right.
  4. The last chord of the chorus is Eb major. So CM7 Bm7 FM7 G D7#9 Eb then back to Em.
  5. In my living room it sounds good. There is definitely a warmer sound than the ELX's. I should bring them inside and A/B them. But so far, the 610 is what I expected. It gets pretty loud and has decent bottom end. Unfortunately I don't have a gig til the 20th, at a blues jam, but that'll be good test for it. It's the kind of gig I got the amp for- no PA, just stage volume in a room that holds maybe 100 people.
  6. Ha! Yeah, it's pretty nice. I guess it was part of my rig revamp too! With the L shaped rig my usual drum throne would be just a bit too far from one of the stacks so I got the stool to be able to roll a little. Here's a link to it on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QKFGY3Y?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  7. I did a pretty major overhaul to my rig the last few months. I retired my Kronos and got a Fantom08 to replace it, saving me about 20lbs of weight. Then I added the weight back and got a Viscount Legend organ. My main gig rig now is the Legend and Nord Stage 3 compact on top. For my Floyd band it's the legend with a Nord Lead A1 on top of it, and then the Roland with the Stage on top of that, in an L shaped setup. I got one of the small 12" Leslies, which I use some of the time, and I have a MS KP610s arriving today.
  8. Central Delaware for me. Pretty convenient to Philly, Baltimore, the DE shore.
  9. After years of carting 2 PA speakers around, I wanted a smaller solution, and pulled the trigger on the 610 this week. It'll be here today. I mostly use IEM's, but there are gigs where they are not an option- either not everything is in the PA, or the venue doesn't have a wifi connection into the board to allow me to adjust my own mix. I've been using a pair of EV ELX112p. One of them is starting to flake out on me, so I figured this was a good time to downsize to a single amp. It'll sit right on top of my Leslie when I bring that out too. Looking forward to testing it out today when it arrives!
  10. All of my Floyd tribute gigs are cancelled. A couple got rescheduled for late summer/early fall. My other main project, we've worked with the venues and have pretty much cancelled everything. We do have 2 outdoor shows in mid/late July that we are going to do. One is a concert in a park where it's easy to keep distance, and the other is a winery with the same setup. No indoor gigs. The one question mark is July 4 at a waterfront venue we play, the stage is outdoors but it gets crowded and you need to navigate shoulder to shoulder crowds to get to the rest rooms- we'll probably cancel that, if the venue doesn't for us. A couple other side bands I'm in have been approached about some other outdoor shows, I said I didn't want to do anything til August so we'll see how that plays out.
  11. My gig last saturday got cancelled. sunday I did the blues jam but our attendance was about half of normal. Now the gov has shut down everything. Luckily this was a slow period for me gig wise, only 1 on the 27th, and 1 on 4/3 then nothing til May. Hopefully things get normal by then as i have 6 gigs in May.
  12. Use a piece of rubber shelf liner.
  13. Killer ! 2 of these Yammi "white cone" 15" w/ horn cabs sounded so damn good for the CS80,- and they were LOUD! And these cabs just only handled 100W each. A.C. Yes, that's what it was, the white cone 15... heavy as heck! Regarding the comment about not wanting to move the rack of CS800's, we had a similar rack. I think it had 3 and then a smaller Yamaha amp that drove our top end for the PA.
  14. Lest we forget--he was also the owner of West Brook Studio, and head of it's keyboard department... And his studio was not open to the public.. lol I remember that! Great stuff...
  15. I started playing gigs in the early 80's, but as a teen I had a Hammond L100 that I took the preamp out from and ran it into a Kustom guitar amp to keep up with the guys in our garage band. I had the Tapco/power amp/speaker setup a lot of you guys have already mentioned. I was using a CS800 for an amp and a Yamaha PA cabinet that was a 15 and a horn. My rig was the L100 and a Rhodes that I ran thru a Boss chorus stomp pedal. Things are so much easier now. That Hammond/Rhodes rig is self contained in my Electro, which I can plug direct into my powered monitors. 50lbs of gear vs 500!
  16. I just moved in the other direction, and eliminated my 3rd keyboard from my Floyd tribute rig. I am using a Kronos 88, NE5D, and Nord A1. I was able to do some creative programming on the Kronos using Karma scenes and was able to remove the A1 from the stack. Nice sleek setup. I have that same Z stand and never had problem with it tipping back, but the Kronos is like a boat anchor on there!
  17. I use the internal effects on all of my boards. I even run my Moog Phatty thru the external inputs on my Kronos and assign effects that way in one of the projects where my rig is those 2 boards. As far as the monitoring thing, I always bring my own monitors. I run in stereo everywhere. Most of the rooms we play have stereo FOH. The only thing I get in the house monitor is vocals, acoustic guitars and maybe some kick, hat and bass depending on how big the stage is. I send a stereo pair to FOH and a separate stereo pair for sound effect samples. In my other bands that play more of the bar/club circuit, I still run stereo. We run stereo mains in those bands as well. I take a monitor send from the board and run it thru one of the channels on my powered monitor to hear vocals etc. About the only time I ever use a house provided monitor is if I'm doing a short 1 set show with a small rig.
  18. Funny, I had a dream recently where I was setting up gear and had borrowed some Nord stuff, and one of the things was a Nord Piano module that was about the size of a cable modem. Red of course!
  19. Every band I'm in has a different solution/set of problems. One band the drummer has electronic drums for rehearsal- easy to keep the volume down there. My Pink Floyd band everyone uses their stage setup and we have a small PA for vocals. It's in a decent sized basement room that has some sound absorbing stuff in it. It can get kinda loud but not too bad- you have to play to the volume of the drums. The other band I'm rehearsing with is a 7 piece which includes 2 horns, in a small room but it's really sound proofed and everyone keeps the volume down pretty well.
  20. Now I know what I'm doing today lol. I played in a PG tribute show about 18 months ago. What a fun time and a great challenge to recreate all the keyboard parts. Some really fantastic music. Here's the set list from the show we did, it was a capture of pretty much everything he has done solo since Genesis. Set 1 Come Talk to Me I Have the Touch I Don't Remember Humdrum More Than This Don't Give Up DIY Family Snapshot Big Time Secret World set 2 On the air Growing Up Downside Up I Go Swimming Digging In the Dirt Games Without Frontiers Sledgehammer Solsbury Hill encore Shock the Monkey In Your Eyes
  21. I downloaded it the other day and used it at a blues jam I play at once a month. It sounded nice. A little darker/woodier sounding than the Silver Grand which was my go to sound, but not as dark as some of their other sounds. It sat well in the mix for me.
  22. 1B- my pets. I have 2 great dogs, an American Bulldog and a Great Dane, and 5 fish tanks (2-125g, 1-60g, 1-46g, 1-20g). 1B1= cooking and eating hot and spicy stuff.
  23. Nice! We did disk 1 of the wall earlier this year and we're working on disk 2 to do a full show later this year. Our lead guitar decided to retire so we're working in a new guy now so that might be put on the back burner for a bit.
  24. Most of the people I know who are trying to be full timers are spread out all over the place- teaching private lessons, gigs, sessions. None of them are doing nothing but gigs to make ends meet. I'm a part timer. A few gigs a month that basically pay for my beer and gear. I'm in 3 regular bands and freelance with some blues bands and also do some session work when the opportunity arises. I like having a decent house, a reliable car, and toys like a motorcycle too much to try and be full time as a player.
