  1. I think the best compromise is probably a newer Nord board but there isn't one board that excels in each sound category.
  2. My bandleader thinks the intro to this Ronnie Milsap song he wants to cover is a Rhodes. I think it's a Wurlitizer with some phase shifter or chorus effect. Maybe it's something else. What do you guys think or use if you cover this song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYrXp8aQHsE
  3. Narf Sounds libraries has Kashmir.
  4. Nope. Just ask my bandleader who's literally purchased almost every ROMpler type keyboard that's ever come out. Always complains about the bad organ or (insert any instrument) sound of another. You have to compromise with digital keyboards.
  5. I turned down a solo piano gig offer because they wanted mostly Taylor Swift music. Sorry but I have standards to uphold, so shoot me.
  6. I told all of the tips he mentioned in the interview to my bandleader who runs our PA and he said he pretty much does all of this already. Yep, can't beat a good analog board! We run a 32 channel APB into Martin Audio speakers, killer setup.
  7. I used to own an HX3 module that I controlled with my old Hammond SK1 and that thing sounded killer, probably the best Hammond emulation I've heard but that was about 7 years ago. Now I see that Viscount has a module (Legend EXP) with drawbars and also Crumar (Mojo Desktop) has a similar one out. I know that HX3 has updated their modeling since I had mine. Has anyone done a shootout of these modules and what is the consensus on which is the "best"? All subjective of course!
  8. Music appreciation (either due to the influence of the rubbish being streamed or arts funding cuts in schools) is at an all time low. Not all but I think the majority of the population out there just doesn't appreciate the time and effort it takes to become a true professional musician. Many likely think it's a "fun" hobby and the really good players are all natural talent with minimal effort put in so why should they be paid well for it?
  9. No different than the local live music scene where there's so many amateurs willing to play for next to nothing. Brings the entire market down. I gave up being the starving artist a long time ago, now I pick and choose where and who I perform with.
  10. I bought my tuning hammer from one of our former tuners. Nice piece, brand name escapes me but it does the job for minor tweaks.
  11. Forscore and LiveBPM when I think the drummer is rushing things, lol.
  12. This got sold a lonnnnng time ago, lol.
  13. Hopefully he sounds better than Wayne Newton does these days. They're around the same age but Wayne is just a shell of his former voice.
