cnegrad
Hi all, Quick question: Rather than my creating tracks from scratch, is there a website where I can purchase backing tracks to Pink's "Raise Your Glass" to create a song parody where we'll legally have the right to post it on YouTube? All the karaoke sites I've seen don't seem to allow it. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks!

Bobadohshe
I think the answer is 'probably not', especially since you've scoured the internet for karaoke sites already. Why don't you just create your own and make them similar but not rip off status? Mike Warren
As soon as there is video involved you need a synchronization license. This is something that has the be negotiated on a case by case basis, and unless you have a contact with the copyright holder (or a lot of money to throw at it) you will probably have great difficulty. cnegrad
I appreciate the responses! I hoped I wouldn't have to create this one, as it's primarily a guitar based track and I didn't want to have to simulate it....
Baldwin Funster
You can get away with a lot under fair use laws. Some lady had video of her daughter dancing to a (I believe) prince song in the background. I got pulled after a complaint from his label and later youtube had to repost it under fair use statutes. The lady even won damages because youtube pulled it down in some improper way. There is a difference between uploading to you tube and distributing the video. Some fair use licenses allow posting but not distributing. FunMachine.
