OT - What are you listening to right now?

One blues riff by Benmont Tench on Tom Petty's "Into the Great Wide Open" in the second verse. Very simple, but very tasteful, very nicely placed in the song. Love the sound of the Wurly. It's his only riff in the song though.

Elephant9. I've been digging these guys on record for a few years now, and just found some live video of them.

Finally checked this out last night. Thank you for sharing.

P.S. If Mr. Fortner sees this... I reckon there's a sweet interview to be had with Mr. Storløkken.

Agreed! I play that often in my Petty Tribute.

Tonight though listening to Mountain's Yasgurs Farm, theme From Imaginary Western, and Nantucket Sleighride. They don't make bands with tone like that anymore! I just love the overdriven organ and guitar combinations.

I dropped of from doing my monthly podcasts, but I've picked it back up again. If you like modern Soul and R&B, give this a spin.

One for the synth geeks, 20 tracks, each made using layers of a single synth from history from a 1968 Moog to 1987 K5M. There's an interesting "behind the scenes" video (with excellent gear porn) too:
