Jode
Larry Goldings and Steve Gadd don't need no stinking bassist. What a tasty treat this is. http://youtube.com/watch?v=8oH7auM3ceo "I had to have something, and it wasn't there. I couldn't go down the street and buy it, so I built it." ProfD
Definitely a treat to hear great musicians work. Full sound minus the "tricks" many folks are using nowadays. Thanks for sharing. NewImprov
Wow, inspiring! I've been checking out Goldings a lot lately, he'sa great and deep player without a lot of flash and tricks. His work with Trio Beyond (DeJohnette & Scofield) is pretty sublime. oscarr111111
Its great that he can play that with no bassist, but that would have been improved 10fold with the addition of a good double bassist, organ walking bass gets tiring fast.
Leberwurst
organ duos and trios are boring like hell, that's why nobody likes 'em. I could do that on a keytar btw. The Dromb Bopper

rod76
or this? http://www.raw-tcsd.com/images/joelatt.nl.26282.jpg Yeah, Lee Micheals had a really rip-roaring sound towards his last albums.
mate stubb
I was a big fan of Lee back in the day, and my high school band played that whole side of his "Tell Me How Would You Feel" medley. Only we added a bunch of triple lead guitar parts, for some reason. It ended up 45 minutes long and was pretty fun to play. I just recently heard Attila, and liked parts of it quite a lot. Hammond thru a wah wah and distortion can be fun! I know Billy likes to pretend that this never happened, but it beats a lot of his namby-pamby later stuff. For those of you who don't know what we are talking about, the guy standing in the meat locker on the right with the porno mustache is..... Billy Joel. Jazzwee
Nice! But yes, after awhile it feels a bit tense without a bassist. Hamburg Steinway O, Crumar Mojo, Nord Electro 4 HP 73, EV ZXA1
Joe Muscara
'wee - is your avie a pic of your Steinway or just a 'generic' one? It looks great either way... rod76
Look at that foot go Mate, I got that album after seeing VH1's Storytellers about 5 years ago. He laughingly recalled the time when he was playing in a heavy rock "band". My curiousity was piqued and it paid off. I couldn't believe he actually played like that.
