  1. No, that would have been a huge surprise. No-one knows if a PC4-61 and/or -76 is even planned.
  2. Very cool initiative! I think a proper review of the Kurzweil PC4 would be really great, since this keyboard has gotten little coverage apart from a few product demos on YouTube.
  3. Pitch/mod-wheels with a stick above... Some kind of new Wavestation?
  4. Great listen Looking forward to next episode.
  5. The PC3X has been my main keyboard for about 10 years and I"ve have never had a serious problem with it. My Roland FA-06 on the other hand... - I guess we all have a brand that we don"t trust
  6. "Working" with bassists... heh... oh, don't get me started on bass players.... But yeah, it's normal to stay away from the lower notes on the keyboard, as they will generally muddy the lower end of the sound, which has to be clearly defined by the bass and the kick drum. There are many exceptions off course and it also depends on the music, the arrangements and what type of bassist you are playing with. The best way to use your left hand would typically be adding more different sounds to the mix, rather than adding many octaves of the same sound. I.E. you can use two different keyboards OR just make a split on your one keyboard, for example with an organ for the right hand and an electric piano for the left hand (or whatever the song calls for), and transpose both sounds so you can play them both in the mid- to upper octaves.
  7. And on the other hand, talking about V.A.S.T. as "one" synth engine is kind of an understatement. Given how many different combinations of osc's, filters, DSP's, signal paths, FUN's, etc. you can make with V.A.S.T., you could argue that the Kurzweil has an "unknown high number of synth engines". I'd say the PC4 has three very compelling advantages over the Kronos: - You can carry it to gigs without having to hire a roadie. - It is significantly cheaper, without cutting many corners in terms of sound and functionality. - It boots much faster.
  8. Can't you just switch programs/setups with a pedal? Then you wouldn't have to take any hands or fingers off the keyboard at all. It's a fairly simple thing to set up on a Kurzweil.
  9. Sounds promising. Moose Attack and Keys of Gold has been fixed inventory in my PC3X for many years.
  10. Hey there, people ... Amateur keyboard- and bass player from Denmark checking in. I am playing keys in a local rock cover band. My current rig is a Kurzweil PC3X, a Roland FA-06 and a Novation MiniNova. I am currently saving up for the Kurzweil PC4 (probably), but I am also very tempted to add a proper clonewheel and/or an analog synth to my rig. So I thought this would be a good time to become active on these forums, as a kind of G.A.S.-therapy
  11. Ok :-) The Forte 8 is a good chunk lighter at 22.5 kg. The Kronos 88 falls in between at 24.1 kg. Personally I wouldn"t do anything to sort out the Fantom"s tonewheel issue. The tonewheel should have been there right from the beginning, you shouldn"t need to buy sound modules or external effects to get a decent organ sound out of a 4000-dollar workstation IMHO. But generally the Fantom seems to be very EDM-orientated. If you are more into classic rock and pop music and you like to have a proper organ sound, it is very likely that you are going to like the sound sets on Forte/PC4 and Kronos more than the Fantom.
