  1. ShadowMan, Can you elaborate on what you mean "now configured for VOX drawbar control"? I looked everywhere and could not find this information. Please advise. Mike
  2. Another option would be to keep the SK2 if the interface does not bother you and use the SK2 to trigger the new IK B-3X. From what I understand it maps very easily to Hammond products. Good luck. Mike
  3. If you want and SKx you better call Sweetwater ASAP. They have heavily discounted all Hammond products. You can get an XK-5 for the price of an SKx. You can now get the SKx at the price of an SK-1. Not sure what's going on but great opportunity to buy one. Good luck. Mike
  4. How on earth did this theft happen? Why wouldn't they have taken the entire board. Mike
  5. Why is there no love in this forum for the Numa Organ 2? Does it have reliability issues? Mike
  6. Folks, there is a lot of info here and I thank everyone for weighing in on my question. I have lots to think about and will probably have some additional questions. Thanks, Mike
  7. A related question to the forum as I am trying to simplify my rig also. I want to run the Korg Module Pro and IK B-3X on my IPAD. Between these 2 apps I can get all the sounds I need. I am looking for 2 controllers to run this set-up but ................ one of the controllers needs to have internal sounds I can use as a backup in the event my IPAD fails during a gig. I would want 88 or 73 on the bottom and 61on the top. Want to keep the $$$$$$ reasonable also. What does everyone suggest? Will I be able to run both the sounds from the Korg Module at the same time as the B-3X sounds? How would I wire this? Thanks, Mike
  8. Okay so I have a question. I would not call myself an "Organ" aficionado by any means but the organ sound engine in the VR730 heard in this video sounded great to me. Why is there not much love for this board out there? it seems to have a very nice user interface also. When you talk $1600 price-range organs you only hear about the Mojo 61 and the Viscount Legend Solo. How does this board stack up to those? Thanks, Mike
  9. For me growing up in the 70's, I love the Rhodes on Billy Joel's "Just The Way You Are". That was actually my wedding song also.
  10. Are we sure you can't set damper and volume pedal control to each side of the split? On my Grandstage, damper is an actual setting (on or off) on each side of the split and then there is a setting called "other control" (on or off) that actually controls anything plugged into the other pedal jack on the back panel. Therefore, I am able to set damper and volume control on both sides of the split. Mike
  11. Folks, I thank each and everyone of you for the input. That's why this forum is so valuable. I have a lot to think about as each of you brought a different perspective. I will think about this a bit and not rush to judgement. Will keep you updated. Thanks, Mike
  12. Folks, need your input as I keep spending money trying to figure out what works best for me. Current rig is an SKx and a Korg Grandstage 73 played out of a Motion Sound KP-500s. I play in a 9-piece band covering music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. I would like to get down to a single keyboard that can cover all this music. My needs are as follows: 1. Excellent sounding AP's/EP's and pads. 2. Strong organ section with all associated controls (Leslie, percussion, CV, etc.). 3. Usable synth sounds for covering the 80's music genre. 4. Flexible and multiple split points as this will be my only keyboard. 5. Decent key action (somewhere in the middle of weighted and synth action) - I'm not that sensitive to key action. I play very hard to begin with. My thoughts are something in the Nord Stage 3 or Kurweil Forte 7 range. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance. Mike
  13. Can't We Try by Dan Hill and Vonda Shepard. An amazingly beautiful love song which my band has played at many weddings.
  14. Jim and others on the forum, just looked at Sweetwaters website and they have reduced the Forte SE 88-key by $800 to $1,695. This board is now less expensive than the Artis SE 88-key. Any idea what's going on with the Forte SE and is that now a better deal than the Artis SE 88-key? Please advise. Mike
  15. Have a Grandstage for over 1-year now and really like it. I gig in a 9-piece band with 3 horn players. The AP's and EP's are outstanding but ................ you need to play them through quality speakers to appreciate the quality of the samples. Strings, Pads and Synth sounds are all there for what I use the board for and it is super easy to layer and split sounds. The one thing I can't get on with is their CX-3 organ emulation. I just dont like the CX-3 sound. In any event I am using a Hammond SKx for organ sounds anyway. I summary, for the price this is a GREAT 73-key stage piano. I highly recommend it. Mike
