  1. I'm glad to see that my Stage 2 would still worth 4000 CAN$ but sincerely, this is the price I paid, full price , no discount because I was using I store credit, in December 2011 so, no way I would pay again the same price for stage 2 used....I know that the new stage 3 HA reached a summit at 6000 CAN$ but I would go for the compact stage 3 B Stock...
  2. I provide the place to practice, 15 microphones, and not cheap one, C535 AKG for singers and ATM 4041 for the drums for example, I provide the Mackie Onyx 16 and PA, Yorkville sound but like QSC quality etc....so, when one of my former singer started to challenge me of what she was going to make on a gig, I remind her that, "every musician has to provide what they need to play"... For free!!!! The PA is just for the singer at first.... Depending on the situation and especially on some small venues, guitar and bass and Durms plus me with my personal two 10" speakers are completely independent to be heard and to hear ourselves so, the PA should be the "instrument" of the singer.... She did!'t even provide her own mic or IEM or Preamp, for IEM.... If a singer think that his instrument is just his voice and that anything else should be charge to the band, get rid of him.... Well, in that case, my instrument is my hands!!!! And I should charge the band for my gear!!!!????
  3. 500$ on piano lessons just give you a mere 2/3 months at the conservatory, 50$ per week in classical and 50$ in jazz....Could be worth it....But I would say Tony Monaco is very well known for that....
  4. From where exactly in Spain (question from a French Guy....Living in Canada...)?
  5. I found a used TC Electronic Helix Phaser pedal to put after the TC Corona Chorus special, edition black one.... Both pedal after my Prophet 12!!! Great sounding pedals....I have the SCF Chorus original pedal on my guitar, the other a swell and another same phaser after my NL2X.... Yes, too much pedals but I like them...I'm a big fan of the TC pedals, they work so well for keys...
  6. What is the brand of your curvy screen? I'm still debating in my studio if I need two 27" screen side by side or a very big one....I have the room between the two monitors...
  7. I don't use soft synths so, anyone using it with Hardware sytnhs?
  8. Fader port 8 or 16 is too good to pass!!!
  9. At black Firsay prices: Mackie MP240 IEM, plus Art Audio pro " My monitor 2" headphone preamp with a stereo input from my premix for keys, one return from the front PA and one mic input and thru. Clave, shakers and bell for summer and singers who do percussion. 2 low profile kick stand for the two kids and two normal stand for the last two Mics on drums, medium and Floor Tom. Art Audio pro headphone preamp for the singers, main balance coming with the main mix could be blended with their own Aux mix from the main board as well, so they have their own "more me" now.. Plus few cables to plug all that stuff. That's it. Haa the best two spiral drinker holder...
  10. Yeah, I know, My former guitarist was telling me to go all software because my synths were outdated and too long to set up and tear down....But they a re so nicer than any software....and I'm still laying my D50 bought in 1986 and I expect to do the dame in 30 years with my P08 and P12....how many time I will age to change computers and OS in 30 years to keep the all system running???? Too many tech stuff for me, in the studio, ok, live, all HW plus Ipad and Bandhelper, configuration changed via midi program changes on the Roland A880 midi patchbay....
  11. And you are English native, imagine if you are French...!!!! But even in French, I really don't hear that much about lyrics, I Have the score scrolling in front of my eyes so, I know the notes, I Hear the notes but a lot of time, I can barely understand the lyrics....My daughter tells ne that I'm stupid because the lyrics are the most important in a song.... Ok, I know a lot of Beatles songs and Pink Floyd songs as well...They were in the cover and I was learning English at that age and was relying on English songs to improve...
  12. With the very practical ways you described the Prophet X and helped us a lot to understand what it is, I would have never bet that you WERE NOT a gigging musician...not saying that just giging musicians are only the one who are looking for practicality/easier ways to do stuff/lower weights etc but my brain was putting you on a stage in front of the Forte and the Prophet X...
  13. Ajastan has already told me via pm his set up and after having spent quite a lot on my future set up, it seems to me it's the simplest one...
  14. That's funny, I don't know if it's the form factor/number of keys factor, it's the same synth but for a 61 keys synth my first feeling was that it's too expensive for me, my "Used" prophet 12 at 2700 CAN$ was the Max for me....As a synth ....But when I see it, maybe my brain looks at it more like a "controller" and put it in the Nord Stage price range so, it appeals to me way more....I don't have that kind of early push back reaction that I had with the 61 notes....I feel, whoooo, so cool, I like it so much....even knowing that the price will be higher....Way more than the new Moog One...
  15. Who, great, it was on my list of stuff to buy for my matrix 1000 for years but anytime I decided to buy one, we got a gig and thus, little accessories for live use was "mandatory" compared to stuff for studio use...Or your former guitarist who borrowed your Amps gave it back to you wthout telling you that he had broken a tube and the power transformer....And because you checked it days after that, you have no way to proove that he did it to be reimbursed....Or you cannot stand anymore to,have to borrow 10 Mics cable for all your mic for drums and Amps and you buy good cables....(40 CAN$ X 4 = a stereo ping device....). Or you find a second Matrix 1000 at a good price just to play "Jump" in stereo with a slight "-1/+1" detuning.... Well, sure it will be bought one time....thanks for letting us know. Sincerely
  16. Do you think that it will kill the Prophet X or will it boost its sales due to the fact that the Prophet X is half the price? Prophet X is a hard-sell already without "help" from the Moog One. Analog purists won't look at it, and peeps who are in love with sample-based synthesis argue that Omnisphere is a better deal. There are some synth freaks out there who think analog synths are boring, digital is cool and fun; and would never consider even the Moog One. Those are among the folks who are looking at Prophet X too, but then their attention quickly turns to Waldorf Quantum, which is a more powerful digital synth. Not that I wouldn't want a PX eventually, but in a niche market (high end synths), it's its own little niche within that niche. Ok, with All the buzz that was over the Prophet X and knowing people who had ordered it immediately, I had not that feeling about the "niche" synth....Ok, I haven't had enough polysynth on my life to feel that Maybe, my first polysynth was the D50... Not analog...
  17. When I Was 15, we decided with my two best friends to start a band....Well, at that time, we didn't know it was named a garage band but, well, the first song we played was "My sharona". I was lucky enough that my best friend was kind of a hell singer and good guitar player, the second one took the bass and I was supposed to take drums. I started to take lessons, paid by the maths lessons I was giving because my dad had a weird approach about modern music being a big classical music fan....I was lusting after the Tama at that time, 1978... When I pushed him to let me buy my drums with my savings, he told me "well, that's stupid, you've been doing great at the piano since you were 6 whith your mother being a good local concert pianist you should capitalized on it....If you are ok, I will pay 10.000 Francs and buy you used Hammond...." Finally, I said yes and never stopped playing Hammond and synths followed right after that...But never played drum again....Ok, just the chick poum tchak and shuffle stuff... But as I was reading music, taking up with reading rhythms was easy for me and I have always had a nice eyes for Drums, especially Tama brand....And Yamaha, ok, I worked for them and met Dave Wrekl... But two weeks ago our drummer quit due to strong hearing lost (he was with us for 3 weeks only..). I found one but he didn't want to move all the time his Yamaha Tour custom from 1986 so, I Started to look for a cheap kit online.... And found, from a retired drummer who had up to 12 pro kits in the past, a super nice Tama Royalstar 1973 plus Avedis Zildjian 1970 cymbals in an awesome shape.... And because I knew the guy for a long time (well, only one year, he was close to join us one year ago but decline the offer for health reason...), he lets me pay it in several times.... So, I'm the proud owner of a vintage Tama drum kit....It's going to stay in the basement and my drummer should like it... And by the way, while I was worried about the room taken by it in our small 16.5X12.5 feet pracice place, he gave me a rack for the Toms instead of the stands that were not sturdy enough so....Even better look: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fkbooi6zaoc1jbs/AAAv3kzxp7SuhL-512eORqbja?dl=0 I'm sure it will be a great kit to do"Poum Tchak Poum"...I might even add a "touww, toutouww, splash" on my same usual drums routine....
  18. Hey hey, French quality guys, French quality....!!!! Just bought the Drumbrute used/like new in a store, yes, very well built...
  19. Do you think that it will kill the Prophet X or will it boost its sales due to the fact that the Prophet X is half the price?
  20. I know of 2 guys on this forum doing exactly that. I also know the Voyager XL is a completely different synth than The One, but I would believe it would be harder now to get the asking price for an XL now that a 61 note poly 8 voice is available for 50% more. Exactly, that might be the time to buy a Voyager now. When the Prophet 6 came in, the prophet 08 was sold at a very low price....I bought one at that time....Hum, good times for Moog lovers who had never been able to afford one...
  21. Same here....Good sound guy, 50$ an hour, 4 hours gig, 200$...Ok, he does the roadie as well and he's here before and after to help us setting up and tearing down....
  22. After all the excitement I had last night, I "just realized" I already have a lot of polysynths....D50, Prophet 08, Prophet 12...But I have always wanted the Moog Sound so, I might buy a Moog Meeting Minitaur....Same price, just with one "0" less....
  23. I don't have issue with noise for power yet but haven't recorded a lot yet but was thinking to buy one of this stuff, is expensive? Did it solved immediately all your problems? The problem I was having was not with noise, it was with major swings in line voltage that were frying the UPS's in the control room. We put in the Tripp-Lite, and, with an electrician friend of mine, found what may have been causing the problems and fixed it. Thus far, everything seems to be working fine. We also took the Tripp-Lite to a live sound gig that was running off of a generator, and ran the front-of-house and all the processing on it. It worked like a charm, and I could see that the voltage regulation was switching in and out, so I know it was working. The unit was around $300, and I think totally worth it. It makes some acoustic noise when the voltage regulation is switching in, but nothing too serious. So, for 300$, I assume it's not a Big transformer that Will deliver an perfect isolated AC currently right?
  24. I have it and I use it during a gig for my drumbrute and when I need the laptop, it goes on it too, I'm even thinking to buy a second one that I could use for the drumbrute impact I plan to buy and I should have enough too to put à vent II on it as well....
