  1. Actually, it would. If you take only the translation of Earth around the Sun, one hour corresponds to approximately 100000km or 60000miles. Now, if we consider the translation of the solar system around the galaxy center, the galaxy's translation... That cartoon is brilliant!!!
  2. Interesting that I was going to post a similar comment. About the teaser, yes, it could be, but I see it more like a tongue in cheek geeky software programmer style ending. 🙂 BTW, MacLaren potentially creates a totally new timeline making that move at the end.
  3. In the Star Trek universe: Start Trek: Enterprise. Most of the four seasons is about TT.
  4. I totally agree, it is interesting under several angles (IMO). I am watching the series again and enjoying it as it were the first time. In my list: Captain Nova: I found after a few minutes watching that it was more targeted at teens, but I watched through the end and it is fun, despite the predictable end. The Adam Project: mix of sci-fi and action movie (more action than sci) but still, fun. I like Ryan Reynolds acting. The Tomorrow War: another mix of sci-fi and action, again more action than sci. I also like Chis Pratt acting. Edge or Tomorrow, yet another sci-fi/action mix, with an interesting angle. And it has Emily Blunt. 😍 OT: Somebody mentioned Passengers with Chris Pratt/Jennifer Lawrence. Not a TT movie properly, but it was OK until the spaceship stopped spinning after losing energy just for the sake of the dramatic sequence on the pool. It drives me mad just recalling the scene.
  5. Sorry if this is somewhat off-topic, but... I always thought of plagiarism as copying the tune/melody, it surprised me when I heard of the trial and both melodies played apart and I thought WTH? I watched some videos on the matter out of curiosity and come to understand the hmmmmm subtleties, but as many pointed out above, especially with the video of Axis of Awsome, you may have different melodies that look a lot alike when mashed up but that are different as far as notes are concerned. IMO the harmony in these is not exactly outstanding; there are some music with more elaborated harmony where it would be difficult to take the harmony and not look a flagrant copy even if the melody notes were different. OTOH, and here is the OT of the post, there are some tunes that are very look alike, because of not very sophisticated harmony or cadence but there is one that I think is a extreme example. I know the original (at least I think it is the original), See You in September, and heard a few times an almost verbating copy of most of the measures. Unfortunately I do not know the name of the singer, he has the same singing style of Michael Boublé (I don't think it is Michael, from memory the voice is different). Does somebody know the song I am talking about?
  6. From memory (I have already had exams twice a while ago), the lab has lockers, where you store your clothes and goods. It is a pretty standard procedure. He was not the patient, he was accompanying his mother. According to some reports, he was in the waiting room when his mother felt bad (my guess was she had a claustrofobic episode) and he was called to assist her. He had to sign a term stating he should not have metal on even as a companion and he answered "no" to every single question. No one to blame other than him himself.
  7. Unfortunately Mathias have a son, so he is not eligible, though very deserving of a nomination by its utter stupidity. He certainly meets the other requirements. IMO, a well deserved death, it proves that stupidity may be mortal, literally. Given his background, I believe he thought "nobody will oblige me to leave my gun in the locker, I have the RIGHT to carry it!!!". Local news informed the gun flew away from his waist when the MRI was turned on, and you see some movies where somebody flips a switch and things start flying towards the machine. The idiot probably thought the movies were real. The magnetic field is ALWAYS present, even when the MRI is "off".
  8. Hello, I have made this to hold the pedal of my ES8. Besides the MDF/(Ply)wood board and some of those 3M silicon drops, one could add some weights to make it stay if necessary. In my case the fact it is against the wall was sufficient. Inspiration came from this very same forum BTW. HTH
  9. She has an... hummmm... exotic voice. In Brazil we have an expression, "voz de taquara rachada", "cracked cane voice" in a literal translation, but I think the equivalent english expression is "screechy voice". Now, I do not mean this in the derrogatory way, quite the opposite. Her voice was the opposite of what I think was the acceptable standard at the time and, despite that, she succeeded. The first time I heard "To be human" by Sia I immediately thought of Kate, because Sia's voice deviates of the "standard" (though not as extreme as Kate's). Nowadays it is becaming more common singers with out-of-the-standard voices, but in the seventies/eighties, IMO she was bold. I hope the above makes some sense. Now I need to find and dust my "The red shoes" CD. 😃
  10. Hardly a bug, given the relative complexity of implementing a USB host with support to USB-Storage and USB-MIDI. However, it is undocumented, so probably Roland is still working on it and waiting until it is mature enough to oficially introduce it as a firmware upgrade. OTOH, it may have inadvertently released on the production firmware (in which case it could be considered a bug ) and Roland may withdraw it in a coming release if not still considered mature.
  11. It is up to the OP to confirm, but I suppose that is not an option and not a very practical anyway for some situations. These little boxes, though not the ideal solution (Roland's decision to omit a MIDI-in port on an RD is weird, considering there is a MIDI out port), are at least more practical, and the power may be supplied by the host port of the RD, if power consumption is less than 500mA.
  12. From the specs on the web site, the host port is for USB memory. The type B (device) USB port is USB MIDI compliant. You will need a device like one of the below. There must be others (I even found one local manufacturer here in Brazil). I have no experience with these, so I hope other users chime in and provide additional info.
  13. To give some context to the poll, looking at a (polemic) topic in another forum (FWIW, Pianoworld - polemics is very common 😃 ), stage pianos were mentioned. The question made me curious about what brands are most commonly found on gigs. By keyboards I mean mostly digital pianos and synths/workstations.
  14. I am using the soft blue theme and there are some contrast issues. Nothing that bothers me too much but I thought I should report. BTW, nice feature of the forum software, good integration with Windows screen capture function, I just marked the capture and it automatically uploaded the images. I am using Chrome, so I am not entirely sure it has to do with Chrome or the forum SW, but nice anyway.
