A friend of mine, flying with a 65 lb case, realized for one of his flights that the extra money for booking into first class from economy was almost identical to the charge that would have been imposed for being 15 lbs over the airline's 50 lb limit, and that in first class bags up to 70 lb were allowed free of charge. Probably a good chance it wouldn't work in most cases, but not a bad outcome if it does.

Kurzweil's K2700 also has the TP/40L keyboard.

I have two electric stands from Roadworx, which is an in-house brand of Thomann’s. Made specifically for keyboards, they are probably more adjustable and adaptable than most motorized desk stands (I also procured one of the latter for my computer stuff). Thomann also sells stand extensions for upper tier options - I was using three tiers at one point. They do weigh a ton and I couldn’t think anyone would want to lug these out to a gig. Current price is $283 for the stand, $37 for one pair of extensions. From what I dimly recall, shipping from Germany was $69 but that’s express UPS air, which arrived only 3 days later.

Apple seems to be responding to market demands for more ports -- their newest MacBook Pro includes three USB-C ports, an HDMI port, an SDXC card slot, a MagSafe 3 port for the power adapter, and a headphone jack. A nice upgrade from my 2 year-old MacBook Pro that has only 2 USB-C ports and a headphone jack. My thought is that their next 12.9 iPad Pro will include more ports, although that might be another year away.

Alto Music offering 20% in "Alto Bucks" - essentially a credit for a future purchase. The catch is that it must be used at once; any remaining credit will be forfeited. I'll receive Alto Bucks once my order for Kurz's K2700 is shipped and paid for.

My favorite addition to my small studio has been an easy chair. Taking a break in the same space as my keyboards instead of wandering off to some other room seems to improve my resilience after a round of practice.

I use my 12.9 for reading sheet music -- if that's of interest, I wouldn't recommend anything smaller.

Thanks for the reminders about the OS sale. Just purchased the "Piano Access Pass". Not sure I'll have time to take advantage of everything available with that pass unless Omicron takes over, but I'll take whatever I can get.

I don't see it either. Is there something in your settings that indicates you aren't willing to ship to the US, and for that reason Reverb might not show it to me? Or maybe there is something in my settings that needs adjustment

I wouldn't use the bump option unless there were dozens of similar keyboards in a similar price range. My guess is that anyone spending that much would take the time to at least scroll through the listings. I have sold on both websites, but prefer Reverb over eBay for the better protection they provide for sellers, although that's only second-hand info and I haven't put it to the test. I do tend to believe there are more potential buyers for music gear on eBay, tho.

I got nowhere attempting to get a good price from them over the phone; in fact their price for a new Leslie was higher than MSRP but I suspect that might have simply been a mistake and didn"t belabor the issue. But I will visit their shop regardless next time I"m in Orlando.

I suggest considering pedals long enough to implement a heel-toe technique. That's difficult with the pedals having a shorter length. The Viscount Pedals 18 looks good for that purpose.

You are correct; I believe I was messing around on the keys in the meantime while I tried a few edits in the menu function to no avail.

Happened to me twice tonight. Didn't have the manual handy, but it did finally go away after waiting 30 seconds or so. Hope it's just a bug that has already caught Hammond's attention.

I've had good experiences with Thomann, shipping from Germany to the US. They were using UPS express saver. I haven't ordered a keyboard but have placed three orders from them for keyboard stands and other stuff. They keep a great selection of K&M in inventory. Each time, UPS received the package from Thomas the day after I placed the order and two days later it was at my door in Nevada. At that speed, it couldn't have received any attention from customs although none of the orders were near $800.

Thanks for that tip! I didn't see the offer on their home page but found it by plugging in 'Berklee' in their search bar for 'articles'. It's an article from Dec 30 that describes 4 weeks of free lessons.

I just fiddled with that today. It isn't difficult using the supplied Allen wrench; just loosen the bolt without removing it and adjust. It's a bit more tricky if you need to adjust how far the stackers extend forward over the lower keyboard in a front-to-back direction -- to do that, that bolt needs to be removed, along with the two ratchet wheels and spring. When I first set up the second tier, I didn't see the paragraph in the instructions that described how to ensure the ratchet wheels should be aligned on both stackers, and as a result the angle on one stacker was alway slightly different than the other. Re-orienting the ratchet wheels solved that issue. If you need to adjust the stackers in a front-to-back direction as mentioned above, it will pay to remember the orientation of those ratchet wheels when fitting everything back together. Bottom line for me is that adjusting the angle of the stackers, as well as the height of the upper keyboard over the lower one is relatively quick. Adjusting the front-to-back orientation of the upper keyboard to the lower one might take 10-15 minutes or so.

MMM, I just received and set up my 18950 stand last week. I'm using the 18952 stacker set and they slide into the front-to-back hollow crossbars of the 18950. Each stacker is held in place by a single thumbscrew which would make set-up and disassemble easy. Since the hollow crossbars on the 18950 are welded in place, the only method for changing the distance between the two stackers is by expanding or contracting the width of the entire stand. As a result, using the hollow crossbars might not work for whatever you are planning to set on the second tier if adjusting the width of the stand is not an option for you. However K&M makes adapter 18954 -- buying two of those that might solve that issue because you could place those wherever you wanted. The hollow interior of the 18954 is the same as the hollow crossbars on the stand. Again, the 18954 comes with a thumbscrew that would be loosened for removal of the stacker. I bought the 18954 to hold a music stand assembly. K&M's website has a lot of detailed info on their products. I found it very helpful in determining what pieces work with what attachments. I also sent them a question by email, and got a thorough response the next day.
