  1. Yep,Gotcha. I’m picking up a few helpful tips over on the “revisiting the IPad live rig thread as well. I really want to keep it as simple as possible so will probably just go with one app that has a bit of everything, probably the Korg module.
  2. If I understand correctly, you don’t have to have the app on the Ipad screen to be able to utilize it? As long as the apps are installed in my IPad, and I’ve programmed them to respond on the applicable midi channels to the setups I create on my Kurzweil everything should work properly? I had envisioned that the app I was to be using had to be on the screen in front of me restricting access to the others. I’ve just ordered my usb 3 camera adaptor and a usb audio midi interface so will have to wait till they’re delivered before testing things. If it works like what I understand your saying, then I should be able to use any app like a Korg module pro or a Ravenscroft etc… all at the same time right? I guess that’s where other apps like Keystage, AUM, or Camelot could be better utilized?
  3. Okay looks like I was putting all my eggs in one basket unnecessarily, I I’ll check out a few other apps.
  4. I’m clueless to the software world of keyboards but interested in a IPad midi setup. I’ve bought IK Systems Syntronik app and am thinking about their IGrand and Ilectric piano apps. Is there a way that you can use a sound from each of the apps at the same time? I have a Kurzweil pc3k which is a great midi controller and capable of creating complex “setups” with multiple zones etc… If I had those 3 apps installed on my IPad, how could you have a synth from the Syntronik app, a piano from the IGrand app, and a wurly from the Ilectric app in a single setup? It doesn’t seem possible. What good are all the apps if you can’t mix and match and pull sounds from all of them simultaneously? I don’t want a system where I can only play a grand piano and then have to switch apps to play the wurly, what good is that? Am I missing something? I know I can integrate any of my Kurzweil hardware sounds with their individual apps but that doesn’t seem like your getting the full monty.
  5. Almost the same keyboard effect as Gino was using but easier to hear and thus replicate.
  6. Hadn't seen that particular version of FoF, enjoyed it very much with my early morning Sunday cup of coffee.
  7. Kurzweil PC3K8, awesome unit, has done everything I have ever wanted to do and more. Bought it in 2012 for $2700 and are probably selling for that today. Never any issues and only have 1 key that is noisy, probably needs some little pad replacement.
  8. Yes good point, I tend to think the same. Piano's made in the 60's should be half decent built with pretty good materials.
  9. Can anybody tell me if this is newer or older Heintzman piano? A google search shows Heintzman’s we’re made in Toronto Canada but ownership changes resulted in them later being made in Soutk Korea, USA, and then China. I don’t have access to inspect it so don’t know what’s on the nameplate or serial number etc… I can get it for free if I want it but kinda want to know what it is beforehand. Seems the older ones are better.
  10. Saw them in Toronto on Nov 25th. Maybe I'm too hard on Phil or too harsh a critic but I cringed many times listening to him trying to hit notes. I'm a huge fan and realize the issues he has but it's sad to watch and hear. He was a great vocalist, drummer, and songwriter for 3 decades but it's time to pull the pin and he knows it. At least the band and show was top notch.
  11. Scott, I'll have to postpone any other comments or tests, I'm off to Jamaica tomorrow and wont be back for 3 weeks. I'm actually quite interested to see what they all are.
  12. Organ 1) A 2) B+ 3) C 4) B+ 5) D I find Organ 1 and 2 very similar but give the edge to #1 for the dirt and grit. Organ 4 is also very good but a little cleaner with a bit more treble. I would be happy using any of these three, especially for this song, they sound great to me.
  13. Haven't edited or made any changes on my GSI desktop for at least 2 years, hope I remember how to update it, these additions seem intriguing.
  14. Just wondering what the value of a Spacestation v3 is on the market nowadays? Mine is like new, never been out of my house, just wondering what I could sell it for as I'm using QSC speakers now.
  15. There's no black Keys in Whiter Shade of Pale but that song makes me puke.
  16. Video makes it look like the keyboard player was playing the brass parts from about 2:00-2:20, maybe edited wrong?
  17. I really like your response and opinion especially item#2. If I'm in this situation again this is exactly how I will approach it. Thank you Tim
  18. So he actually sounded quite a bit like Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears but had a deeper tone. Head over heels was in our playlist, luv the song. Now, I expect some people here might disagree with me about his voice but I just find it too distinctive and on the muted dull side.
  19. Yes, I agree as well, that is/was what I was struggling with, but now I have to move on. Made the decision, have to live with it. It's not gonna bother me too much, I'm 60 years old and had my share of musical experiences so I'm alright with it now.
  20. I think so too. I told the bass player it's better to pull the pin now rather than lead the band on a few weeks or months and then quit. Still, because I was excited about the whole thing and then to find one fly in the ointment it was tough to abandon ship.
  21. The guy in the video might be better, lol.. No, the singer is actually pretty solid, just don't like his voice.
