  3. I find I don't want to overcomplicate things anymore. I mentioned the KL 8 because of the op's desire for headphone capability. I had a Samson SM 10 as CEB has mentioned and was happy with it, (your most economical option). I also still have an Ashley 308b. All of these fit the bill.
  4. Thorens TD 145 with a Shure M97XE cartridge. Harmon/Kardon AVR 20II receiver with an AC Infinity cooler on top Sonolab & Optimus Pro X44Av (Radioshack Minimus 7) speakers I bought the turntable when I was 16, along with the Kenwood KR 6400 and had them pumped through 2 Zenith Allegro speakers at the time. Sounded reasonably good if I recall! Bought the IKEA Kallax to get all the albums in the house together in one place, but I'm not quite done yet. Not too fancy, but I'm having fun.
  5. Piece-O-Wood Caveat: All this gear is long gone. I still have the shelf.
  6. I was never impressed with the plastic construction of the CP 4-40 series, however it was not my primary concern. The action was. Since I do the bulk of my practice on a VPC 1, as far as the action of both the CP 4, and the YC88 goes, I don't find that to be an issue since both are far lighter. The YC 88 action does seem to be much more responsive. With regard to the piano patches , I find that when I sit down at anything, it takes a while for me to acclimatise my mind/touch, to a new piano sound, more than with other patches. This includes any piano VI, that I choose to use. That being said, I have not really spent much time on any thing other than the YC 88 action /sounds since I got it. I like it a lot. I played both the CP 4 and the YC 88 for a couple of days and quite frankly, I have no regrets about selling the CP 4.
  7. I bring up the YC because I just took delivery of one. I purchased it for the purpose of reducing my rig from 3 keyboards to 2. I would be replacing a Hammond xk 1c and a CP 4. I am driving the organ engine from a second tier keyboard, therefore NOT concerned if the YC 88 action lends itself to organ playing. I had both the YC and the CP 4 side by side, and if the 88 action was identical to the CP 88, then my observations would be relevant to the conversation, and perhaps be of help to you, the patch difference between the CP 88 and the YC 88 notwithstanding.
  8. Is it safe to assume the YC 88 action is identical to that of the CP 88?
  9. I bought it last time they had a big sale. I had to dedicate a 1tb ssd in the Mac Pro just for it.
  10. It seems pretty straightforward. Dave needs our help, and the easiest and fastest way to do that, is to support MPN with the mechanism already in place. It may not be the ultimate solution, but seems to be a gauge of the viability of a crowd funding model , as opposed to others, which have drawbacks of their own. If you value the forum, want to see it flourish, and ensure its continued existence, it's just not a big ask. The Paetron system has been in place for a while now.
  11. I am happy with Patreon. It has been available for a while, but I guess being voluntary is unpredictable revenue wise. I have no problem with a subscription model to ensure the continued existence of the forum.
  12. Medium duty slipover case from Thomann in Germany.
  13. Leafs move on, my wife is happy. I can practice in peace. For now.
  14. It did Ken! I have a case coming for it from Thomann, and then we can get togther and check it out!
  15. I agree! I am smitten! This thing is powerful! I could in some cases, cover a gig with it alone! I am glad I opted for the 88 action, feels great!
  16. Finally took delivery of my new 1st tier board. I think I can cover most everything I need too, using the Korg on top. Out from it, into the YC, no mixer, I hope.
