  1. Nice and tight! Tell us what product you are using to hold up the Ipad? Thanks, Joe.
  2. Numa 2 organ, Korg Module, Rolls mx44s. First attempt at Ipad pianos for me, and the Numa works real nice as a 73 key controller for the Korg voices. Joe.
  3. Hi, you will need to sit at the organ for a bit to experiment with most of the adjustable parameters on the sk2. As for the low foldback, it defaults to repeating the lower octave just like a vintage organ, as does the high foldback. You can change the octave set points for both low and high; if you like what you hear just let it be. I do not know what amps or Leslie you may be using. If you change the low f/b point to 1c you will get a very deep bass tone that does not repeat from 2c down to 1c. Try it out and see what it sounds like. The high end f/b has a much more dramatic change at least to my old ears. 4G is more in the ballpark to me, with 5C being a little to much in your face again depending on your amplification, eq settings, crossover points... I changed my settings and depending on the amps or room acoustics it can be fine, but I have gone back to using the factory default settings. The 5C cuts just a little too high for my liking so I compensated by tweaking the EQ parameters in the menu and sometimes adjust the stand alone eq knobs on the fly. No right or wrong here, just find that pleasing sound you want. Good luck, Joe.
  4. Yes I am. I have played through a number of amps, systems, Leslie cabs, with/without a Ventilator and always enjoy it. For my purposes, the sk2 has been great; organ on top and I set up all the other voices on the lower manual. My gigs do not require any synths, strings, horns... Getting used to a single set of drawbars is not the end of the world as long as you can realize the sk2 is much more like a combo organ; setting up presets is the way to go. I have been transporting it with a Nord C1/C2 case I had after selling off my NC2. It never disappoints. Good luck with your decision. JoeyGB3NY.
  5. Not aware of any "single" button operation for using 2nd & 3rd perc together; just press both tabs at the same time.
  6. I found this at Best Buy. It has worked fine with the sk2 and sk1; it adjusts width wise just enough and has foam on the 2 side mounts that have kept the board(s) in place. It is heavyish, and you gotta be careful setting up/down, the pivot points of the legs will get ya if you don't pay attention. :-) Been using it for @ 2 years now. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/quik-lok-keyboard-stand-black/6501706.p?id=1218748000670&skuId=6501706
  7. BB good for you! Looks great and sounds like you had fun doing your custom project. I am not near my rig at this time, however, I use a Nord C1/C2 case for my SK2 and it fits like a glove. When I first bought it for a C2 (since sold) I noticed that the pop rivets where the handle is located by the end blocks sides of the organ were a little too exposed. I covered them up and then followed the incredibly lame diagram instructions from NORD on how to fold the interior panels as to protect the wood of the organ. I figured it out, but not on my first try; LoL, anyways it works great for the SK2 board. Joe.
  8. You can adjust the high and low volume drop off points independently of each other to your liking. It's in the pedal menu parameter, can also change the level down to a whisper/zero if you like. Try a couple of the settings to get as close to the B you had. Joe.
  9. Ahhh, you are correct dgas about the organ signal being dry; back to the drawing board I suppose. Maybe HS will include signal routing in one of the updates someday. That would solve it for everyone. Nord has it, I wonder why HS didn't think to make allowance for this. On the simple side of that answer would be so that we have to buy the 2101 mkii to get all organ and ev's in one amp, but that doesn't help you with wanting to use 2 amps. The quest goes on...
  10. Maybe there is a simple solution; instead of trying to manufacture our own 8 pin jumper cables, how about purchasing the LC8-7M 8 pin cable from one of your local HS dealers and cutting it in half. Now you have a spare or can sell half to another brother in need. I have not tried this and I am NOT a tech, so maybe one of the more tech savvy guys can speak up. It just seems to me that since the 8 pin cable does what it is supposed to do using my 2101 mkii set up, it should separate out the signals properly even cut in half and with 1/4" plugs attached and you can choose 3 or 1 channel Leslie from the internal sim parameter. Anybody?? Just a thought, and I am not affiliated with HS in any way, and again am NOT A TECH.
  11. Hi all. SK2 with 8 pin cable into a 2101 mkii, and 1/4" out from SK2 mono jack into a keyboard amp. Using selection #3 here's what I have; with bypass turned on, raw/dry organ ( no speed controls) and all ev's go to the stationary channels of the 2101 and to the keyboard amp. With bypass turned OFF, organ (with speed controls)goes into the 2101 rotarys; the ev's go into the stationary channels of the 2101 and to the keyboard amp. Using selection #1 here is what I have; with bypass turned on, organ goes to 2101 rotarys, speed controls work and ev's go to the stationary channels; ev's also go to keyboard amp. With bypass turned OFF it is the same as bypass turned on. What amp/Leslie configuration are you looking to hook up? Hopefully this helps you. I also have a Vent but not using it much as the sim, once dialed into your taste, really gets the job done. Also I find that if you use a Vent with 1/4" from the SK2, the ev's get into the rotary unless you hit the bypass on the Vent, and then the organ is dry unless you hit the bypass on the SK2, then you have the organ sim signal working properly ( Leslie-fied) and the ev's working properly. So, sometimes less is more. ;^) good luck!
  12. Our band BreakawyGroup played last night at Nikon Theater Jones Beach; we played the side stage in the pavilion opening the night for The Doobies and Chicago. We had a great night all around. I took my SK2, 2101 mkii with a 2-10 bottom cabinet. Rough recording, but not too bad. Doobies were fine, Chicago rocked the house.
  13. Good luck with the hard case search; please keep us posted. I choose to use Nord's case for a C2 I had for a while. For a soft bag it is very good and the SK2 fits nicely.
  14. You'll need either 2 switches as JMcS has described, or you could go with this dual pedal from Kurzweil. I have one and it works great for speed control and sustain on my SK2. Enjoy the SK1. Joe. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KFP2M
  15. Going to chime in; I use a Kruz ME-1 on the lower manual of my C2 and there is velocity control. Needs to be set up every time you power up; simple enough in the midi menu just find Local control "E" and set it. Can also change the trigger depth for both manuals for a little different feel. Joe.
  16. Same here; I have Bose QuietComfort headphones for my computer listening, great phones, and I do not hear any hiss or tailing off. Maybe you should try listening with just headphones? What are u playing through at home? Lots of cables, pedals, mixers,... The samples are really nice; I'm liking what the sk line-up may become, but I think I'll wait until these quirks get ironed out. I do not have any issues with my NE3 or NC2. Thanks for sharing.
