  1. Is there a demo video of the "Synthy" sounds of the Fantom? It would help cover many needs in my rig and save me from bringing my Mac out for smaller gigs... I've been going between The '06 and the Modx+ 6, for that elusive "second board" to use with NY Electro. SO I've got Organs, EP, AP et all all covered by the Electro. I'm sure this has been asked many times before...
  2. He certainly left his mark on us all for sure. I had the opportunity to hang with him and his dad at an "organ summit" in PA, many years ago. They were both so laid back and cool to hang with. No snobbery, just pure mojo!
  3. I find the trick to get the "middle stuff" with Moises is to let one of the other muted tracks slightly bleed in-- typically it lets some missing frequencies pass through. All in all, it's a great program and so practical on so many levels. It saves a ton of time!
  4. Actually, here's the technology: https://research.deezer.com/projects/spleeter.html
  5. I have a Moises subscription, and the app "Simple Stems", (Stagecraft Software, an elementary version of all the AI stem separation tools). I wonder why we're seeing so many of them now. Maybe it's a certain technology that is now public domain for programmers to use with apps?
  6. Have the fixed quality control issues that had existed in the Mojo? That would be my concern. You certainly can't beat the value! I'd love to have their two manual clone with the reverse colored keys!
  7. https://neo-instruments.com/?option=com_content&view=article&id=50&Itemid=54 The two "Micro Vents" as well as the "Drive In"... Did anyone try them out?
  8. I haven’t been inspired to use it since I installed it. I’m cancelling subscription. Logic on my Mac is so much better…
  9. I haven't used a PC for music in a very long time. Without starting a "Mac vs PC" war... Is the Surface a viable option to run apps like B3-X, and the Cherry Audio/G-Force/Arturia stuff?
  10. I've messed with Sunvox; great program, lots of fun, and it was free last time I checked, I also have Renoise which, in my opinion, is the king of them all. You can get a free demo and try it. But, apart from experimenting, I never really used either as a compositional tool; although, it's on my bucket list to actually dig in and learn the program and try to apply it to my regular workflow. (Renoise also makes a program called Redux which basically runs in any daw as a plugin). Try the demo! There are spotty videos here and there on YouTube; but really, like any other program, you just need to get under the hood and mess around. Let me know how you like it! Tom
  11. I'm getting "progressively excited" with the prospect of winning, please sign me up! The tension has me Close to the Edge of my seat! It's Your Move now...
  12. Hi Fleer, the Yamaha CK61. looks great! It just is pushing me into a higher price than I wanted to spend. had I decided to not use the computer/plug in route at all, then I’d consider a fully blown board like the Fantom/Modx/ etc or even a Kronos. but this is for a quick grab-n-go addition to my Electro. but the new Yamaha CK61 does look cool!
  13. Scott, what type of MainStage support? I’m sure any hardware keyboard would appear as a midi controller in MainStage. What’s different regarding the Roland and MainStage?
  14. Yes. That’s why I’ve kept the Electro this long. And also why I use a Mac and MainStage. Quality gear always gives you the best bang for a buck. in this case, however, it’s for extra sounds when setup time and/or logistics don’t permit a full rig.
  15. The Fantom 06 is pricewise very close to the Yamaha MODX6. Really didn’t want to go that high. Which would you folks choose if were between the Fantom and the MODX? though, I’m leaning towards spending less money on the Juno or small Yamaha…
  16. Hey Folks, I’m looking for a quick setup for a lot of gigs where I don’t want to bring my computer and run VST synths etc. lately we’ve been doing a lot of quick shows and the setup time is just not there… I use an Electro 5D for organs, pianos etc. so the top board would be for strings, brass and other sounds of that sort. Even synth pads etc. the more the variety and quality, the better… I’d like to stick to the price range of these two (or possibly less, if i went with the Yamaha then probably MX49 instead). any options are greatly welcome! I would like to purchase ASAP. thanks in advance, Tom
  17. Forgive me if this was already discussed, but sonically how close are the XK-4 and XK-Pro, in terms of organ and Leslie simulation? They seem to be $2500 for either one.
  18. Adam, how do you account for different barrel size and voltage requirements of each device?
  19. Hi Mate! Thanks so much!!! Yes, that would probably do the trick... I guess I'd need longer power cables from each section but that's not a big deal. I need to see what the various voltages are of each thing and see which is best suited. But that's a strong possibility... If they had one twice the price and it had selectable output voltages, that would even be better. (The one in the pic says 240 volts, I guess it's for use overseas..)
  20. Hello folks, As the title suggests...I'm seeking a solution for a universal power adapter that will be robust enough and versatile to handle the different requirements (connection types, voltages, etc.) of various pieces of gear that use wall warts. (Years ago I had gotten one from Radio Shack, long gone...) Any suggestions as to where to look for this? I found this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/SoulBay-Universal-Switching-Selectable-Electronics/dp/B01N7RS0NG/ref=asc_df_B01N7RS0NG/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=216534554317&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10744092856043504940&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004242&hvtargid=pla-351409027577&psc=1 But is it robust enough? I'd like something a little better... Amazon shows others as well, with different voltages, etc. I'd just like to find ONE adaptor that will cover almost any situation (and then buy a few of them!) It would be great to have as a backup on a gig... Maybe even use a few of them in a pedalboard to make a more robust solution... Thanks in advance! Tom
  21. I have the Radial KL-8 which I use for bigger shows - but for a quick "grab and go" setup I recently got a tiny little Yamaha MG06X mixer. I use the headphone out of my Mac (same as using a headphone out of an iPad) and mix my Nord in there. Quick, simple, and painless. And really inexpensive! Since I'm still using headphones out (It's an iPad 5th generation Mini) I'm good to go.
  22. Hey Art! So if I didn’t program it’s layout like a guitar, I might also be tempted to make a layout like a chromatic (non-stradella) accordion button-board. Thanks for your insight!
