  1. Numark NDX500 CDJ. Getting into live remixing/looping and wanted to beat match acapellas. Could have done it with my MBP, but I'm not a fan of seeing laptops on stage. Too easy for everyone to say your doing very little. Decided to diversify owing to hand issues I don't think I can full on gig/play with them anymore. Added bonus I don't have to put up with being in a band anymore and dealing with narcissism and pettiness.
  2. Looking at the firmware history, i see that 3.83c released 28/8/2015 has 'new optomized tapering for more punch less peaks' I wonder if that makes it comparable to Wolfgang's tapering. I would be interested to here from the people with both the X3 and the module.
  3. In the X3 organs, Wolfgang has his own taper settings. These are done with the editor I believe. Is this editing available to the end user and is Wolfgang's adjustments available to use outside of his own instruments for a fee? I ask this as I think I am going to purchase a MAG C2 organ over the X3-2, primarily for the layout, metal drawbars, chunky switches in the right place that does not require finger point accuracy. Small buttons I grew tired of on the Nord C2D. Can I put my own tapering in with the editor?
  4. I'm so pleased Thomann will be stocking them. I have an active Stage Rhodes Mk1 with the cheek block supply L/R outs from the preamp. I'm hoping this amp with give me the suitcase bottom vibe, if you'll pardon the expression.
  5. Doing jazz standards and a woman comes up and asks if we 'do any black music'

  7. Here's a little addition I did to my Quiklok Monolith stand. I cut down the top tier height so to get closer between the two keyboards (unfortunately a 4oct board will not span between the arms so had to add a shelf). Underneath, I added a shelf by cutting two holes at the back which allows it to slot over the uprights and rest between the legs. It's rock solid. I could even add a couple of Mackie SRM 150's if my laptops not in use. Quiklok Monolith
  8. Haha! I know, I have really bad eyesight (diabetes related but I digress) and the number of men I have mistaken for women. I also sometimes need to stare a bit longer than usual to try recognise who I think is somebody I know, only to find its a complete stranger. It's a wonder I have all my teeth intact!
  9. "I had a long conversation with Theo Verelst last week"
  10. What a prick, although are you certain that wasn't actually Ernest Borgnine?
  11. I can't decide if I should take the moral highground or not.
  12. There'll be a review coming soon.... Found a brief review here though http://www.norduserforum.com/nord-c1-c2-c2d-organ-forum-f13/nord-c2d-press-release-and-pics-t2140-70.html
  13. It's took me a long time to get to this stage but this is my rig! Finally got nice examples and spent a fair amount on restoration of internals. I'll keep these until I pop my mortal coil. If your friends with me and play keyboards.......I don't have a will written out yet lol. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7086/6883683636_635d6ca3fe.jpg DSCN0148 by fastfingerz75, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7272/6883558846_fa0ddc7705.jpg Untitled by fastfingerz75, on Flickr
  14. Build quality wise, it was an all plastic affair, certainly no XK3 quality expression pedal. As far as throw is concerned it was pretty good actually. A friend of mine had the KeyB pedalboard with the pedal built into it, felt nicer, firmer, with a Leslie kick switch on the side. As a side note guys, I'm getting my Hamichord tomorrow or Wednesday. The EXP module I'm ordering in a week. So if there's anything you guys want to know either sonically or hardware please let me know and I'll be glad to help. I even found the weight of a British Pound Coin (9.5grams) to do a weight test! I can run it I to a 145 cab with a 122 amp through Speakeasy Pre interface if you like.
  15. Just going back to what Moe said about the included long throw pedal not being that much of a throw compared to the real deal. Any of you guys who have played a real console (actually, maybe the spinets have the same throw too) find this with the Mojo? And if so, what can be substituted, Ernie Ball or something?
  16. It takes something extra to make me sit up and take notice amongst many Hammond players, and you did it Hal. I love an organist who can swing, and you have it in abundance. I enjoyed equally the pianist and drummer, and it's nice to see that type of line up. The Mojo in your hands sounds great.
  17. No, it worked out at £1750 ish UK when I was looking before I dropped the sheckles on the Hamichord, around 2100 for Mojo.
  18. Have you tried typing Crumar Mojo into Google Tom?
  19. Mitch, have you any of the 'minor issues' LyonsT alluded too in terms of cabinet 'tightness'?
  20. I appreciate it's a small company, but isn't that more of a reason to nail it and impress the hell out of everyone that such a company can turn out high class work? It's not good clicking 'buy' with the thought 'well I'll expect a few minor things but I don't mind' I'd like to hear from Mitch to see if he has any minor things going on. Believe it or not but I actually have my KeyB Duo on EBay now to get one of these, purely for the weight saving, but I'm having second thoughts.
  21. Always ready to slide in with the gratuitous wood sex you are! I will call them sex panther side panels.
  22. Sigh, doesn't that bother you? Minor things shouldnt be there on a new instrument. One of the reasons I asked about cabinet build quality. I was actually going to get one as its 10kg lighter than my current clone, but now I'm not so sure, and here I am looking to give them a second chance.
  23. Thanks for the info, I have another question if that's ok. Are you able to lift it comfortably and move it from the floor to a stand? A friend of mine can lift and move his KeyB with no probs, but he's over 6ft tall. I don't think I'd swap to a Mojo (as I can use the VB2 software with the KeyB if I so desire) but it would be handy to not rely on someone else. But, I guess with that in mind, I'm also able to put a Nord sized 73 on top of the KeyB, and I'd need another tier attachment for the mojo. All swings and roundabouts! Maybe I could grow taller or develop longer arms.
  24. What's the build quality like on the case and buttons/switches LyonsT? Is it tight? Paintwork? Does it look straight and level all round? Darren, I have been using a Mk1 KeyB Duo with Linux inside for 3 years without any crash/dropouts or any issues at all. I'm not sure if Linux is comparable to Windows but I don't worry about that aspect. I know the Mk2 and Mk3 use DSP now though.
  25. Amazing! Unique! Shipping cost to UK?.....ahem. Well done, you have every right to be proud as hell!
