Anderton
I'll start it off: Roll off the low end when going into reverb - less mud, more bright. Dave Bryce
One mic for what you're recording, one mic for the space where you're recording it. * dB * at least. Quote ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <==

Anderton
Rolling of treble off at 5 kHz or lower when going into an amp sim creates a much smoother, creamier sound. Anderton
'Don't take two hours to do what you can do in two minutes' Good one! Here's another one: When using compressor with vocals, if the words aren't distinct, add enough attack time (30-40 ms) to let the consonants through. Theo Verelst
Ok, here another real one for me, and actually, it's a double implication, so you can turn it around, which is rare! Dave Bryce
To quote a friend of mine: "If the song sucks, don't blame the gear - write a better chorus." I would amend that to...or change the arrangement. It's amazing what can happen to a fully arranged tune if you just strip it down to one or two of the instruments and the vocals. dB Quote ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <==
