hurricane hugo
One of my fave singer-songwriters is a guy named Peter Case. He was in an awesome band in the early '80s called The Plimsouls, but has been mainly a solo act for decades now. NPR's Mountain Stage posted this pic of him on Twitter yesterday. I asked him who made it, and he said Eastland: Not exactly the weirdest of the weird, but you definitely don't see it every day. Well, unless you're Peter Case, that is. hurricane hugo
Most of Minarik's guitars are either semihollow (including an insanely detailed Flying V-type with lightning-bolt F-holes) or heavily chambered to bring the weight down...which is good considering how thick their guitars' bodies are. My FLMS is actually an official Minarik dealer; I'm gonna have to pay 'em a visit soon. See one of these machines in the flesh(?). hurricane hugo
I know NAMM was a month and a half ago, but I just found this video featuring some out-there guitars...although the all-cajon drumset near the end is definitely the oddest thing in the video. Dannyalcatraz
Some I know, others I didn't- like the Claas guitars. I've seen similar designs, but only on basses, not in ERGs or 7+ stringers. There are about 3 or 4 models with/without Bigsby...sans pick up...white or sunburst instead of orange etc. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would have to hear and play one if I could stop laughing long enough to give her a ride...the add says it sounds great as an acoustic or as an electric! One volume knob and no tone knob so we're talking straight up here! I wonder if it will actually become a hit? But I can't help myself, I just had to share it with you guys! I mean, this is the "weird guitar appreciation thread." ps. I know I can't stand that sound hole design... Quote Take care, Larryz

I mean, this is the "weird guitar appreciation thread." ps. I know I can't stand that sound hole design... That sound hole looks OK on the jumbo shaped Gretsch Rancher & G3700 models. https://reverb.com/item/1429386-gretsch-3700-early-2000s-tobacco-sunburst?_aid=pla&pla=1&gclid=CN7kouyYr8wCFYqPfgodU7wDdA I have a G3700 & it works visually. If you want an electric pickup on an acoustic, the single coil on John Lennon's J160 did not look stupid at all. But a Bigsby on a dreadnaught? What were they thinking?
