I'd like to contribute to the list, too.

I like the intro to:

Marching To Mars - Sammy Hagar

Born on the Bayou

ooh, good one!

Thanks! It's about my favorite guitar intro ever. What a great "conversation" between instruments! :thu:

The entire song is an intro! :D

That reminds me... Couldn't Stand The Weather. That has a really neat intro.

How about Lonely Is The Night by Billy Squier?

Red Barchetta by Rush? (You notice a pattern? I really like good use of harmonics. ;) )

And speaking of Rush, how about Big Money, Witchhunt and The Trees??

Yeah. It's probably more appropriate for a "best riff" tune but I was listening to it today and had to add it. It really is a cool tune. :D

"The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown)" - Fleetwood Mac

"Cemetary Gates" - Pantera

"Sin City" - AC/DC (the Hendrix-style intro followed by the four-chord main riff)

"In The World Of Giants" - Max Webster

"Dead On Time" - Queen

"Brighton Rock" - Queen (there's this weird chordy riff Brian plays at the beginning after the carnival sound effects that's real cool sounding)

"Respectable Street" - XTC

"Over My Head" - King's X

"Fell In Love With A Girl" - White Stripes

"A Girl Like You" - Smithereens

"12 Bar Blues" - NRBQ

"Folsom Prison Blues", "Big River" - Johnny Cash

"Personal Manager" - Albert King

"All Your Love" - John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (Eric Clapton)

"Heartbreaker" - Led Zeppelin

"Spirit Of Radio" - Rush

He's not my most favourite player, but when I saw the title of this thread, 2 of Ted Nugent's songs came to mind.

Tied Up In Love

Working Hard Playing Hard (I know these are lyrics but I cannot remember if this is the title of the song! )

For simplicity I like "Slow and Easy" by Whitesnake

anyone mention Yes's "Roundabout"? (I did look through the thread, but quickly, glancing for faves... lots of them here! AHHH... I see that Neil got it.

How about Queen's "Stone Cold Crazy" ?

"What I Like About You" is great, but it's not the Cars, it's the Romantics. Sorry to be such a know-it-all weenie - "it's my idiom."

You guys took all the good ones (especially AC/DC, and Pantera's Cemetary Gates) :)

Guitarzan pulls Saxon out from the bottom of the vault, yet noone's mentioned Sweet Child 'o Mine yet ;)

As long as I'm on that train of thought, how about Parasite by Kiss, Stranglehold by the Nuge, La Grange by ZZ, Fire Woman and Edie by the Cult.

Ooh, ooh... Into the Void by Sabbath. What a jam!

It's not simple to be simple.
