Dave The Rave
I have a case of about 1K 45's from my DJ days of yore. It weighs a ton - needs two people to pick it up and carry it really. This guys collection will break truck axles!! :DTR Cambrian Guitars
RABid
Oh my. That's a lot of 45's. I presure the bad thing is that 99.99% of those are records that no one wanted when he was in the business. Magpel
Wow. Heh. The seller lives about 2 hours from my house. Heh. My wife loves old 45s -- she must have, like, 150 of 'em. Such a funny thought, bidding on this. We'd have singles parties every night till death. Get an old mono grade school record player. Heh. I love the idea. paully
At an average of 3 minutes per song, I wonder how long would it take to play every 45.. both sides! WUDAYAKNOW.. For the first time in my life, I'm wrong again!!
zeronyne
You'd think that the Library of Congress or even the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would snatch this up. "For instance" is not proof.
RABid
It is up to $5200 so someone has a bit of money to invest. I wonder how long it will take to catalog the collection? Kayvon
I bet DJ Shadow will come in with a winning bid in the last couple of seconds.
JeffLearman
Well, one guy estimated 32000 45's. Assuming 6 minutes per 45 (both sides), that's 3200 hours of listening. So, if you listened 2 hours worth every weekday, you'd get through them all in about 8 years. Of course, you'd need a feeder player, or else it'd take you more like 3 hours to listen to 2 hours of music.

A lot of tacky old pop 45s actually have great arrangements. Dave Pierce
Absolutely stunning. I can't even imagine being weighted down in life by this much stuff. Letting someone else walk away with it will no doubt be a completely life-changing experience for this guy. --Dave Make my funk the P-funk. I wants to get funked up. Ed Coury
...I would have a problem with the way those records are stored -- the boxes on the bottom are being crushed by hundreds of pounds of vinyl. They're getting pushed against each other, cracked, warped, etc.... "Oh yeah, I've got two hands here." (Viv Savage) "Mr. Blu... Mr. Blutarsky: Zero POINT zero."
