  1. Hi Doc, Simply put, it's the frequency where your speaker is most efficient; the greatest amplitude to a sine(or guitar ) wave of a constant power amplitude. AFIK, that merely means that the lower valued speaker will more easily/efficiently reproduce that(and nearby) frequency. The lower rated would probably be more gutsy sounding, for lack of a better term. Best, Paul
  2. Hi Myles. I'm brain-picking again. I've seen feedback circuits in a lot of amp schemos but this one, for an Ampeg V4, adds a .001 cap in parallel with the traditional limiting resistor. This is the only amp I've seen it on, and am wondering why Ampeg might have included it. Speculations appreciated. Thanks. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p71/goosefat/V4.jpg Best, Paul
  3. Thanks, Myles. Everyone I ask has basically the the same response, so the quest continues... :D Best, Paul
  4. Myles, Maybe you can answer a question that's been bugging me for awhile now. Ampeg stuck a couple of diodes from each leg of the O-transformer's primary to ground(Pic 1) on certain amps. The V4b amp already has a fullwave PS(Pic 2). Wondering their reasoning, and if you might have a thought. Thanks! Best, Paul Pic 1: http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p71/goosefat/output.jpg Pic 2: http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p71/goosefat/rect.jpg
