The Magician
Hands Down what bleen said! ^^ BTW don't forget to check out the libraries too, they have pulled out some Chmberlain and biotron sounds too. This thing sounds good, but the older version was a little finnikey. I have a good acquaintence that has the entire set, and it is truly 'Tron more so than any other library or instrument I have ever heard.

Reverend Rhythm
I think there is also a CD of the full 8 seconds of the mellotron sampled on every key. I looked for it, but couldn't find it. David

Since the Melltron relay on recorded tapes, it's recorded material and can't be copied! The link above goes to a mellotron certified CD. Synthoid
The E-MU Vintage Pro module has several Mellotron samples in it. Now that E-MU is discontinuing most of their hardware, I'm sure you can find one for a good price. The unit also offers samples of the Fairlight as well as Moogs, Arps, Oberheims, Roland classic synths and a lot more. I doubt if anyone would arrest you if you actually sampled a real Mellotron.... I suppose the heirs of John Cage should sue Ampex and BASF, since every reel of their recording tape contains a looped studio recording of 4'33". "I had to have something, and it wasn't there. David Loving
That's a ditto on e-mu. My vk 6 keyboard has some real good, usable mellotron patches. "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown."
coyote
I know this ain't quite what you asked for, but here are some looped Mellotron samples of good quality for anyone who hasn't been there yet: http://tinpan.fortunecity.com/aphex/113/ http://www.hollowsun.com/vintage/mellotron/ I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist. This ain't no track meet; this is football. Tom Fiala
You can also check out BatSound's freebie mellotron VST over at kvr-vst. Very limited, lo-fi, cheezy sounding....but it's free, and good for a laugh. Tom F. "It is what it is."
RABid
The Mellotron was created before anyone considered copywriting sounds. Dozens of companies have sampled the Mellotron and used those samples in their own instruments. I don't own M-Tron but it seems to have the best collection of those true Mellotron samples within a VSTi or sampler. Robert This post edited for speling. Lame or not, I just stated that it's illegal to sample a mellotron to make a multisampled instrument. Fact!!! I know, I've checked!
