HolyTerra
My brother owns one of those. I suppose they don't sell them anymore in stores, for they were somewhat of a fad I guess? He's not using his, I'm sure. I'll find out if he's willing to part with it. How's that? http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif
HolyTerra
I checked with my brother, and these are his comments:"This board that I have is a Casio Midi Controller Keybaord. It is Battery Operated and has an A.C. Adapter jack. The model is a 'AZ-1'.It does not have sounds built into it, it must be hooked to a keboard or sound module via midi "in/out" jacks. I'll get back with more info later." He said he wasn't doing anything with it, and wouldn't mind parting with it. Would you like more info on it? jay da cop
Just to let you know, I've been using the Casio AZ1 for about 12 years now, and I love it! They usually run $300 US. Jay
Senator
I picked up a Yamaha SHS-10S 2nd hand about 6 months ago for about $30 (US).It has 6 midi out channels. 1 performance, 5 rythym. Has pitch bend on the neck and buttons for vibrato and porta-mento.Looks sooo cheap and is an absolute gem for the stage.Runs on 6 AA batteries or 12v DC.Unfortunately it is not velocity sensitive or have after-touch or anything but man do I feel cool......... ------------------Ed

The fact I did not like of it was that the keyboard transmits at a fixed velocity of 64 and had (that was much too ask) not Aftertouch but the "vibrato" buttom works fine. Very cool litl device... HolyTerra
Well, I guess "kduane" must've found one for $30, too! I tried my brother's on for size and I didn't like it -- I wasn't expecting it to be so heavy.
Raymar
Strap On MIDI controller? Is that a MIDI controller for lesbians? You shouldn't chase after the past or pin your hopes on the future.
