I checked with my brother, and these are his comments:

"This board that I have is a Casio Midi Controller Keybaord. It is Battery

Operated and has an A.C. Adapter jack. The model is a 'AZ-1'.

It does not have sounds built into it, it must be hooked to a keboard or

sound module via midi "in/out" jacks. I'll get back with more info later."

He said he wasn't doing anything with it, and wouldn't mind parting with it. Would you like more info on it?

I picked up a Yamaha SHS-10S 2nd hand about 6 months ago for about $30 (US).

It has 6 midi out channels. 1 performance, 5 rythym. Has pitch bend on the neck and buttons for vibrato and porta-mento.

Looks sooo cheap and is an absolute gem for the stage.

Runs on 6 AA batteries or 12v DC.

Unfortunately it is not velocity sensitive or have after-touch or anything but man do I feel cool.........

I had one and I custom painted it all BLACK.

The fact I did not like of it was that the keyboard transmits at a fixed velocity of 64 and had (that was much too ask) not Aftertouch but the "vibrato" buttom works fine.

Very cool litl device...

Check out the cover of Keyboard's August 2001 issue, and the corresponding story on page 70. Looks pretty funky to me. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
