I know for me at least I want to butt out as much as I can until the mixing/mastering process. I'm leaning towards doing a couple of songs. Possibly on one song sending out a scratch drum track and letting the team just go for it. The bass can lay down a groove, and pass it on to the next guy etc... If the bass doesn't want to lead then maybe rythym guitar or keys can get it going. After the band puts out a scratch version we talk about it and then go for the real deal. This would be a true collaberation project. Then, on a second tune I can toss together a progression and give everybody 16 measures or whatever to showcase your stuff, but still tie it together with some kind of vocal track/song theme. it's all good Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One with little or no original concept (could be a real train wreck!) and then another with some structure. I know I'm not that good, but it had been two weeks and no one had posted anything.
