nursers
From Rocket Network's October newsletter: U2 Uses DigiStudio For Remote Mix Approval on Upcoming Live Concert DVD Engineers working for Rock & Roll mega-stars U2 recently used DigiStudio during the production of an upcoming live concert DVD. DigiStudio was used to connect Effanel Studios, a leading mobile recording studio in New York City who taped the concert, in New York City and Abbey Road Studios in London. Effanel had the concert tapes and needed to get them to U2 for their approval. The challenge? The band was on the road touring to promote their chart-topping album All That You Can't Leave Behind. They would be in London for a period of three days, but then back on the road. Time was of the essence. The files were too large to burn to a CD, and it would take too long to send tapes or hard disks by courier. 5.1 Surround mixes were sent from Effanel to Rocket Networks offices in London. The mixes were then delivered to Abbey Road. The transfer of such a huge amount data was not without its difficulties. When the UK IP connection went down due to outside network issues, the DigiStudios reconnect feature reliably resumed the transfer at the point of disconnection. Bono and The Edge successfully reviewed the surround mixes at Abbey Road. Stereo mixes of the entire concert - almost three gigabyteswere then sent from Effanel to Abbey Road. During the review process, minor tweaks to the stereo mix were reposted because the accompanying video was recut. The transfer went off without a hitch, and the production deadline was met. www.digipronet.com ------------------ www.mp3.com/thirdstoreystory The Keyboard Chronicles Podcast Check out your fellow forumites in an Apple Music playlist Check out your fellow forumites in a Spotify playlist My Music: Stainless Fields
