Has anyone tried TKO drums? I saw a set on display the other day and I tapped on them a bit. they seemed to be very resonant, except for the snare and snare stand. They were 9 ply shells and I could have bought the whole 5 piece set for only $380 .

Imported Taiwanese crap. That's not to say they won't sound good or be useful, and $380 is a fair price, but that's just what they are. I suggest finding a good set of used Ludwigs, etc. for the same price.

Replace Taiwan with Indonesia, and that description applies to quite a few high-line famous-maker drums. Yeah, some stuff that comes from Taiwan is less than high-quality. But plenty of good stuff comes from there; if it's useful and sounds good, how can it be crap?

I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist.
