techristian
Has anyone tried TKO drums? I saw a set on display the other day and I tapped on them a bit. they seemed to be very resonant, except for the snare and snare stand. They were 9 ply shells and I could have bought the whole 5 piece set for only $380 . Jode
Imported Taiwanese crap. That's not to say they won't sound good or be useful, and $380 is a fair price, but that's just what they are. I suggest finding a good set of used Ludwigs, etc. for the same price. "I had to have something, and it wasn't there. I couldn't go down the street and buy it, so I built it." Injun Killer
My first set (10 years ago) was a TKO. Very flimsy. I play hard, and the shells seemed to warp a little after 3-4 years. The kick sounds like a trash can. MEGATRON FOR PRESIDENT http://grannysghost.com/megatronLap.JPG
coyote
Replace Taiwan with Indonesia, and that description applies to quite a few high-line famous-maker drums. Yeah, some stuff that comes from Taiwan is less than high-quality. But plenty of good stuff comes from there; if it's useful and sounds good, how can it be crap? techristian
You have to give these off brands a try. I got the same response when I mentioned Sunlite drums.
