The hard part's over: deciding.

Now comes the harder part: saving.

MSRP-- Well, there is no MSRP for the Avatar cab. For the GK 400RB-IV it lists for $689.

New -- from Musician's Friend it's $489 for

the GK head. The Avatar cab is $279 shipped. So that totals out to $778.

Ebay? I haven't looked yet.

Fasting? Difficult, yes; but it may come into play... ;)

Hey, Danny, nice choices. Congrats, but try to eat sometime... ;)

Definitely watch ebay, I do see Avatar cabs there (Avatar even sells them there), and GK stuff is pretty commonon the 'bay.

Phil, I have the SB112 in a non-neo version. IIRC, the cab is around 45 lbs. The neo version should be just under 40, I'd bet.

I am quite pleased with mine, running an SWR GP preamp and a Peavey DPC amp at 400 watts.

My neighbors like it too. :D

Peace,

Yes, I have to credit wraub for endorsing the Avatar SB112. The Neo weighs in at a slender 39 pounds. It's rated for less wattage than the SB112 Delta, though; only 250 watts. But that's fine by me. I want to get it as a 4 ohm cab to get the full 280 watts out of the GK 400RB-IV head. Don't need more volume/power than that at this point; I just wanna hear my B string! If I need more than that, I'll upgrade later and sell this rig or keep it as a "mini/portable" option.

It'll be a huge leap in power and tone from my trusty little Yorkville XM50 1x10 combo.

Lovable little workhorse, but there's only so low and loud that it'll go.

Hope you dig it. I am pretty sure you will.

If not, Avatar does offer a nice return policy... ;)
